counterfeit
Summary: twog2e bought a flea collar for their cat that turned out to be a counterfeit. After an unsuccessful conversation with the seller, eBay does not want to step in because the return was canceled, preventing another dispute from being opened. They were advised to open a PayPal dispute. twog2e criticizes the lack of protection eBay offers buyers and expresses regret about going back to the platform. Other participants shared humorous and skeptical comments about the effectiveness of collars, real or fake.
Hello, I recently bought a flea collar for my cat, but it turned out to be a fake.
I was able to talk with the seller, who first claimed it was genuine, then when I pressed him he offered me a discount, so he is indirectly admitting that his product is fake. I refused his discount and demanded a full refund, and he started speaking to me in another language before completely ignoring me...
My problem is that I first wanted to file a return because I couldn't find the counterfeit item report, and once I found it, I canceled the return (I'm not going to return a fraudulent item so he can resell it to someone else), the item was recognized as counterfeit and now I'm stuck.
Ebay is asking me to communicate with the seller, but talking with a thief never gets you anywhere, and they don't want to do anything because apparently you only get one chance for a dispute; once the return is canceled, they wash their hands of all responsibility.
I had nevertheless shown them proof that the item was recognized as a counterfeit, the discussion between me and the seller, and that some other buyers had also noticed that some of the seller's items were counterfeit.
So my question is, what can I do when ebay pretends to be blind despite the evidence?

You mentioned the main part of your problem----> " once found, I therefore cancelled the return (I'm not going to return a fraudulent item so they can resell it to someone else),"
On eBay, you can no longer do anything, since you are only allowed to open one dispute per item... so it's over.
Now look on the PayPal side if you paid that way ..---> open a dispute on your PayPal account if you have one...
That's all you can do with a foreign seller for the price of an anti-flea collar..
Best regards

OP2 years agoThanks, I'm heading toward a PayPal dispute, I hadn't thought of that given the rare problems I've encountered when making a purchase ...
It's still a bit shady on eBay's part to offer only a single chance when they themselves detected a problem with the item

now there are some stories for a flea collar !!!!!!!!!!!!
twog2e
OP2 years agothe number of people who gave him positive feedback on this product while completely unaware that it’s a fake, who are going to buy more in a few months.
he probably has several accounts and must be making hundreds of euros a month, for bits of plastic that attract fleas instead of repelling them
Why did I come back to buy on eBay?!!

·2 years agoHello,
At the same time... " bits of plastic that attract fleas instead of repelling them " do you seriously think that works?
Whether it's true or false, it's the same thing, it's pure mysticism. ^^
Yes, I'm off, it's nice out, I'm heading outside to look for chanterelles...I'm already gone 😋
