I received an old glass item, unfortunately completely destroyed.

I sent the photos and a message to the seller asking for a refund. So far, no response.

If I still haven’t heard back in a few days, what procedure should I follow? Because I can see that eBay can step in after 3 days without a response after a return request, but in my case I’m not going to pay for shipping for broken glass! Do I still have to go through this “return request” to get a refund?
