never buy on eBay
Summary: wi2735 shares a negative experience with a purchase on eBay, where a brazier bought as new arrived used and rusty. eBay customer service didn't provide a satisfactory solution, leading to frustration because the claims deadlines had passed. *miss-tigri* mentions the need to understand eBay's warranty, while another participant points out the importance of carefully reading product descriptions. nareio asks for clarification on the distinction between "new" and "like new," highlighting its relevance in buying discussions.
never buy on ebay !! no buyer protection and absolutely terrible customer service. I bought a fire pit on eBay, sold as new. However, the item arrived barely wrapped in a simple plastic film, rusty, scratched, damaged, and clearly second-hand. The seller homedeluxe24 never disputed that the fire pit was not new during our exchanges. I contacted eBay customer service, who had me follow useless procedures, wasting my time and causing me to miss the complaint and return deadlines. Last week, they asked me to submit a return request in order to get compensation from the seller, but he refused, saying that a return request was no longer possible at that stage. So I end up with no financial compensation at all and a second-hand fire pit that I paid for as if it were new.

·2 years agoJust a clarification: sold “NEW” or “LIKE NEW”??? That’s not the same thing...
Hello anyway.

·2 years agoHELLO, @wi2735 .
I see that you didn't think it useful to answer my question. (item "New" or "like new" ???)
Too bad: that would make it possible to address a point that interests everyone and that has every place in the "discussion" section: being able to read or write an ad and what exactly the words used in it mean.
Regards.

·2 years agoUnfortunately, it’s your lack of knowledge about eBay’s guarantee that caused you to miss the dispute deadline ..
You had 30 days from delivery to make a return and refund request ..
For your info, it’s not allowed to mention usernames on the forum ....
