Item received is not at all the same as the one ordered
Summary: autokisscool shares an experience where an eBay purchase went wrong when they received hand cream instead of the collectible booklet they ordered. After contacting the seller without success, they returned the package and waited for a refund. lingma85 advises contacting eBay customer service, and noctisauxroses points out the complications of international purchases. In the end, autokisscool announces that eBay authorized an automatic refund after a set period, and the situation seems resolved.
Hello,
A little story after buying a collector’s booklet on eBay, I receive hand cream!! I contact the seller who says it’s not his package, I take photos ..... with the correct tracking number on it ..... and no more response. I send it back to the United States to Ebay Expéditions with the shipping label they gave me, it arrives fine and Ebay tells me the seller is inspecting my package to refund me ..... but still in that status, no refund.
I hope Ebay will refund me because this is really a lot, and it’s almost €150.
We’ll see ... what do you think of this story, will I get refunded for sure ?

OP3 years agoEverything is sorted out. Thank you Ebay.
Ps: for the delivery, it was a pro well-versed in international shipping, with thousands of sales under his belt and very well rated. So what happened ... mystery.

·3 years agoMy view is that when you don't fully understand the whole issue of cross-border purchases, and on top of that you don't know that Ebay is not a sales site but simply a platform connecting buyers and sellers, you should refrain from buying abroad...
Buying abroad means:
Different import/export regulations
Different VAT rates
Different customs rules and rates
Different laws
etc etc
You bought from a seller in the United States. It's with him that you need to sort it out. Because I hope that before buying from him, you checked that you were fluent in Shakespeare's language and in the customs duties between countries.
Let's say it again: EBAY IS NOT A SALES SITE, so it is not responsible for anything
