Question

I bought an item on eBay USA today. I paid with Paypal at 6:05 p.m. but an hour later, I still haven't received confirmation of my purchase...

The problem was resolved by renewing the transaction. It seems that at one point T, the transaction was declined despite Paypal's approval. The payment went through without any problem this morning.

Thank you for your reply. The purchase is not listed anywhere (Paypal and Ebay history), even though I confirmed the payment after receiving a one-time code by SMS. I’m going to contact Paypal customer service first thing this morning and then, if necessary, Ebay’s. Since the seller accepted a big discount on the item I wanted, this puts me in an awkward situation, even though I paid and he has received nothing.

check whether the order appears in your purchase history:

It’s also possible that you placed this order without being signed in to your account (= guest order). See this link:
