Dear sellers,
The European Union (EU) is adopting the universal charger directive, which aims to reduce electronic waste by requiring a single type of charger for rechargeable devices. This directive applies only to professional sellers.
As of December 28, 2024, only devices equipped with USB-C charging ports may be offered or sold on the markets of the EU and Northern Ireland. Professional sellers must also give consumers the option to buy an electronic device without a charger and include additional details in their listings.
These new requirements do not apply to products that were already offered for sale or that were sold on the markets of the EU and Northern Ireland before December 28, 2024.
