New import requirements imposed by the United States
Summary: fr_news_team announced that, as of April 3, 2025, buyers in the United States will have to pay additional customs duties on orders exceeding USD 800, and provide personal information for customs clearance. Deliveries could be delayed because of strengthened customs checks. eBay will adjust estimated delivery dates and help sellers adapt to these new rules, including by removing negative feedback related to tariffs. The eBay team will continue to keep French sellers informed about the potential impacts of these changes.
As of April 3, 2025, 12:01 AM EDT (06:01 AM CET), buyers located in the United States will have to pay additional customs duties on most orders valued at over USD 800. They may also be required to provide personal information in order to complete customs clearance for their purchases.
Please note that deliveries could be delayed due to increased customs inspections. eBay will continue to adjust estimated delivery dates (EDD) to communicate accurate delivery dates to our buyers.
Customs duties, import fees, and personal information are generally requested by the carrier when completing the purchase. The prices shown on eBay do not include these additional fees.
We will put measures in place to protect sellers as they adapt to these new rates and requirements. This includes, among other things, changing the late delivery rate when valid tracking information indicates that these are due to delivery delays, as well as removing associated defects. We will also remove negative feedback related to the rates.
We will keep you regularly informed about how these changes may impact sellers in France.
Best regards,
The eBay team
