Hello, eBay sellers, have you ever been suspended with the note No Seller Privilege or some other note that smells like an automated thingamajig? If so, did you manage to get back the ability to sell? This is a call for testimonials. If you’ve found yourself with one or two customers creating a dispute and taking a hammer blow to the head from eBay, this message concerns you. We are ALL concerned by eBay suspending people solely on the basis of undeserved customer disputes and leaving us in limbo (keeping things vague about the possibility of selling again, and when...) going forward. Here’s my story: I’m a Frenchman living in Brazil and I’ve specialized in buying and reselling books, preferably rare, old, signed, fine bindings—in short, bibliophile books. I’ve been selling on eBay since 2020-2021, but I really developed this activity in 2024 by creating an eBay store and setting up a photo studio at home for pack shots. At the beginning of 2025, Brazil was shaken by a Correios strike (the Brazilian postal service). During this partial strike, which lasted almost 2 months, the postal service was running slowly and there were errors and delays among shipments. One Express shipment ended up in a ship container instead of on a plane. A book intended for France was put into the Rio de Janeiro distribution network for local delivery before being rerouted for export. Another shipment was lost at the same time by the French postal service (it’s rarer, but it does happen!), and I refunded that shipment at my own expense. For other shipments too, frustrated customers over the delay created cases (disputes) for “item not received.” Most were fortunately resolved by the package eventually arriving. Since then, Correios has ended its strike and several shipments have arrived safely, some even early (for example, a book sent in late May by Express arrived in France in just one week!). Unfortunately, 2 shipments were apparently held as “Non reçu” (Item Not Received), and on June 3 I received an email saying “NO SELLING PRIVILEGE,” with no further explanation. I continued making sales in the days following that email without any issue. And then, around June 9 or 10, without any warning email, my store seems to have disappeared and all my listings were removed from sale. If I try to relist, the following error message appears: "Your account is currently limited due to suspicious activity.{e270928-1139141x}" Since then, I’ve kept sending messages to customer support, both through the contact form and by email, to ask whether I needed to do anything specific to restore my store and the ability to sell. No reply. Once I got a response saying they were escalating my request, then nothing. eBay is just flat-out ignoring me and leaving me in limbo...! Makes you want to sell, doesn’t it? Looking closely at my BBE and INR charts, the "INR Rate" seems to be assessed over a 3-month window (Window 1) and a 1-month window (Window 2). On my "Window 1" it is above average. Yet if time passes, I’ll no longer have any sales and no more "INR" either. Once the "INR Rate" goes back to zero, is there any chance eBay will let me sell again and recreate my store? Has anyone already gone through this situation? Did eBay give you back your "SELLING PRIVILEGE" (basically the right to sell)? It feels like being crushed by an absurd machine that blames us for factors completely beyond the seller’s control: postal strikes, postal negligence, baby-like customers probably used to ordering everything from big platforms and getting everything very quickly, eager to open disputes without thinking about the consequences for sellers... eBay doesn’t take the context into account, throws selling limits or suspensions at us with its algorithm, and doesn’t even bother to communicate with its dear sellers.
