Suspicious buyer
Summary: macedoine34 describes a bad selling experience on eBay, where a buyer supposedly returned a damaged vinyl record and kept the original sleeve after receiving an early refund. He expresses his frustration and warns other sellers never to issue a refund before getting the item back first. max2661953 and koalagris remind people of the forum rules regarding reporting others, while francois-o and *miss-tigri* advise following eBay’s protection procedures and reporting the buyer. frelonverre comments that this experience can serve as a lesson.
I sold a fairly rare Bon Jovi 33 rpm record because it was a Dutch pressing, graded VG+ ( I've sold a lot of vinyl with no problem because I understate the product's condition to avoid any dispute. This buyer asked for a refund on the pretext that the description was false. I naively refunded before the return. What a surprise it was to receive a similar record, scratched and dirty, and to make things worse the buyer kept the record sleeve.
avoid this one, it cost me €50 and all I got back was the inner sleeve, the record is not the one that was sent and the sleeve has disappeared
Conclusion, never refund before the return

Hello,
I’m sorry to read that you had a bad experience with a buyer on eBay.
As indicated by @*miss-tigri* , it’s better to wait for the return before issuing the refund. In a return dispute, the seller has 4 business days from the date of receipt to initiate the refund.
I invite you to report the buyer via the following link: https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/signaler-un-problme-avec-un-acheteur?id=4084&st=3&pos=1&query=Signaler%20un%20probl%C3%A8me%20avec%20un%20acheteur&intent=signaler&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1263
Our trust and safety team will then check the account; in cases of return abuse or violation of eBay rules, sanctions will be applied.
You also have the option of blocking the buyer so that they can no longer see your listings: https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/bloquer-un-acheteur-sur-ebay?id=4082&st=3&pos=1&query=Bloquer%20un%20acheteur%20sur%20eBay&intent=bloqur&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1034
Regards
François
