I sold an item worth 350 euros and eBay took more than 101 euros in fees.... Aren't they just taking the mickey out of people? Is that reasonable? I'm going to close my eBay account and my 300 items for sale

@lenielda
Check in " payment details " on your listing , you should find the supporting documents for the fees taken by Ebay.
Do you sponsor your listings ?

OP3 years agoThe fees are made up of 65.,52 euros in advertising fees (sponsored ad) and 35,35 euros for the order, that’s still a lot on 350 euros in sales? Kind regards

I assume you chose a sponsorship with a rate between 2 and 100% of the amount sold within the allotted time...
- could there be an error in the %...?
If that's the case, you need to make a claim to Customer Service.
If not, you need to use your calculator before getting into the advertising effect... so you can control it better and avoid nasty surprises.
On the other hand, it's true that the shock of the bill is hard to swallow when the fees get added on.. and it's a bit disorienting.

·3 years agoIt's very rare for eBay to make a mistake in billing, I think it's the only service where we don't find any bugs, best regards

If you haven’t noticed, when listing your item with standard sponsorship, Ebay recommends a percentage rate.
You’re under no obligation to keep this rate; you can lower it or increase it and thus manage your advertising budget

without the breakdown of the fees, we can't give you any information.
Take the issue up directly with customer service. (They have the details.)

·3 years agoHello?
Are you sure it isn't multiple sales?
Also, sending it by tracked letter for a sale at this price is out of the question....

OP3 years agoHello, it was a lot of 30 peseta banknotes and I sent them, of course, by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.
