FRAUD ALERT : eBay France, unwitting accomplice in the scam of the century against its PRO sellers? PRO seller on @eBay_FR@eBayFor 20 years, I built my reputation on 100% customer satisfaction, working hard every day. I never would have imagined that this platform, which I faithfully supported, would turn against its long-standing partners by enabling fraud!Here’s the nightmare I experienced: an Italian customer orders a brand-new high-end product from a brand we officially distribute – over €500 on our eBay store. Nothing unusual: we ship that same item every day via eBay, **bleep** and our online store, always sealed and pristine.But here’s the dirty move: this "customer" – a confirmed scammer, I should say – files a bogus complaint: "The product doesn’t match!" He attaches photos... and guess what? An outdated model more than 4 years old, Full HD instead of 4K, in place of our brand-new sealed shipment! Obvious fraud: the product was swapped to scam the refund.We immediately report it to eBay, with evidence to back it up. Unfortunately, this is the first scam this fraudster has been caught doing on the platform. Result? eBay rejects our alert for lack of a "pattern"! Worse: we have to retrieve the item from him via FedEx... at our expense!We write a damning letter: "20 years of loyal partnership, thousands of flawless sales – what reason would we have to invent such a fraud?" eBay’s response? "We are just a marketplace; we do not check the condition of the goods." And just like that: full refund to the thief, with no regard for us, PRO sellers who pour millions into their ecosystem!I am outraged and disgusted. This scam – "swap fraud" – is exploding in Europe, and eBay, by washing its hands of it, becomes an unwitting accomplice. They pocket our commissions handsomely, but leave us to fend for ourselves against scammers. Consequence?
