import eBay via Mondial Relay
Summary: brigitte74550 reports a problem importing eBay sales into Mondial Relay to create shipping labels. frelonverre confirms an issue with Mondial Relay and suggests using La Poste in the meantime. Other users, such as *cinead* and leboncoindujeu, are running into the same difficulties, reporting that attempts to fix it have failed. martin_jeux mentions using the Mondial Relay app with a discount code, although lemondajouets72 notes that the code doesn’t work. Several participants express frustration and dissatisfaction with the technical service’s ineffectiveness, as well as communication problems from Mondial Relay and eBay. A few suggest alternative solutions such as going through Packlink, although some consider that cumbersome. The problem persists over several days, causing order cancellations and delays.

What needs to be resolved?
christialhermitt_0
·1 year agoNo, this is not resolved, I think Ebay no longer wants this information export; as of March 16, 2025, the import of Ebay sales directly into Mondial relay no longer works.
It was handy because all you had to do was go to the relay point with your QR code on your phone and the relay would print the label (I don't have a printer), Moreover, postage was cheaper on the Mondial site, because when paying on the Ebay site you have VAT added on top!

·1 year agoHello,
As far as I'm concerned, the link (E-bay-Mondial relay) only works for small parcels.
However, for a parcel measuring 90 cm x 90 cm x 9 cm, and weighing 3 kg 400, the link sends me to colissimo: I no longer have access to a Mondial relais shipment. I no longer think it's a "technical" issue, but rather a decision made by Mondial relay to no longer accept large parcels sold on E-bay.
Your thoughts? Thanks.
frelonverre
·1 year ago@binieders
don't worry, your 90 x 90 x 9 parcel is too big for either Mondial Relay or La Poste, but at La Poste there are oversize dimensions available (an extra 6.50 euros) that go up to 2 m for H + L + W
in any case, it's up to you to define how you want to send your parcel, and to do so at the very moment you list it for sale
binieders
·1 year agoThank you frelonverre
I thought the maximum dimensions were 2 m for Mondial relay.
Your reply will be useful to me.

·1 year agoYes. Problem for the past 15 days.
Given how important the problem is, I don’t understand the delay.
The Ebay and Mondial Relay synchronization is not happening.
Ebay informs us, but it’s been 15 days and my customers are getting impatient.
Also, to be able to send with Mondial Relay without synchronizing with Ebay, you need the customer’s email address and it’s not possible to get it via Ebay.........
Does anyone have a point of contact at Ebay to escalate the issue to management??
Thanks

Dear sellers,
Due to a technical issue with the eBay order import module, it is currently impossible to purchase and print eBay labels (preferential rate) via mondialrelay.fr.
The issue is being analyzed and we are making our best efforts to provide a quick resolution.
If your business has been affected by these disruptions, eBay will stand by you and will automatically protect your seller performance, including:
Meanwhile, it is possible to obtain Mondial Relay labels at the same pricing through the eBay shipping platform. Orders are accessible from your https://www.ebay.fr/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT">seller hub or directly on the site https://expeditions.ebay.fr">https://expeditions.ebay.fr.
Thank you for your understanding.

·1 year agoGood evening,
Apparently everything is working again, I created 3 labels this morning via eBay import and others this evening. The layout is quite different, which tends to confirm that the problem came from the update.
On the other hand, home delivery to certain countries is still missing, the bug has been there for a while, I was hoping it would be fixed right away...
As for @pescalune340's comments, still nonsense...
lysa-elec
·1 year agoif we omit our shipping costs we are also taxed by eBay on that amount !!!!!
lingma85
·1 year agoHello @lysa-elec
In reality... the commission taken by eBay is based on the total amount paid by the buyer... just like payal does and.... the tax office when it calculates your flat rate on your internet turnover, which includes the purchase amount and shipping... (except for those who are on actual expenses or simplified actual expenses...)
This also creates equality with sales with so-called free delivery (which are not free for sellers... !!!)
Best regards
lilasblanc50
·1 year agoHello
Except that Mondial Relay - I don’t know about the others - also charges us a fee ... that adds up, especially on small amounts.
flofigurine72
·1 year agoIt's just the connection between the two that's glitching in the connection via Mondial Relay now; whether that's the cause, we'll never know
It совпides with the weekend at 99 CTS on Coincoin
The prices are also as low, or even lower, on the other online sales sites
The prices are always the same when we make our labels via Packling, it just takes more time
And if it's a pricing conflict issue, that would be pretty incomprehensible given the rates they charge for competitors
It's mostly eBay who must be crying, on the other sites it sells way more since this bug started
PS On V. and LB we received messages explaining that Mondial Relay could have issues printing the labels 🙂
And as for the fees eBay takes on shipping costs, the excuse that it was sellers abusing it before no longer holds water given the practices of the other sites
If eBay really wanted to stop skimming off shipping costs, they'd put in a rate table with the different carriers by weight and the customer would choose directly the one that suits them from among those offered by the seller, like pretty much all sites do these days
pescalune340
·1 year agoUsing Packlink should be the same price for you if you are a professional seller, but for private sellers it is absolutely not the same, probably yet another oversight on eBay's part....
pescalune340
·1 year agoHi,
Same problem as everyone here. impossible to import your sales through the Mondial Relay site and therefore print shipping labels. The home page is active, you can log in, but after that you can't do anything on the site.
As I'm a small private seller, I don't make many sales so I only noticed the problem 3 or 4 days ago, but apparently it goes back at least to September 4. The site works again from time to time for a short while, but I have another problem...
Sometimes I sell to neighboring countries and even in those countries where there are relay points (Belgium for example), I prefer to charge for home delivery. It's better for my buyers and normally it's charged at 9.20 euros by MR.
At the moment, I have to send parcels to Spain, to home delivery since the buyer paid for that and that's what was promised, when the site works again and I manage to import my sales, it no longer offers home delivery in neighboring countries. So I can import my sales, but the delivery offered by the site is no longer the right one and not what the buyer paid for. So I'm still stuck, and I don't see myself explaining to buyers that I can't provide what was promised. I'm certainly not going to pay the difference out of my own pocket by Colissimo international (completely outrageous rates from La Poste Française, but that's another topic), I'd rather cancel and in fact I think I'm going to delete all my listings until the problem is resolved.
That brings me to the other part of my comment....
It seems extremely bizarre to me, even very suspicious, that a site belonging to a company as big as Mondial Relay would stay down for more than 24 hours without that being intentional.
I called MR twice; a lovely hostess named Françoise or Marjolaine answered me with a very strong foreign accent to tell me they are aware of the problem and that they are escalating it, and to add "do you have any other questions ???".
For me there are two possible reasons for this fake bug
1. At the beginning of September, there is a very strong rebound in activity. Mondial Relay is overwhelmed, facing staff shortages because a lot of employees take their holidays at the beginning of September. So they deliberately reduced the site's activity by making it impossible to send anything without saying so clearly.
2. Mondial Relay is in the middle of renegotiating its partnership with eBay and is taking us hostage to put pressure on ebay. MR is waiting for ebay to receive massive complaints from sellers or massive cancellations of sales.
frelonverre
·1 year ago@pescalune340
It’s funny to speculate about why the bug is happening, but that’s based on nothing
Mondial Relay works normally directly from its site; in fact, sellers on other platforms aren’t running into this problem
What’s changed on MR: a new layout for creating your label (fewer required fields too, phone number in addition to email address, shipping price known at the end)
Maybe eBay’s robots, not recognizing the new format, are getting confused (that’s me extrapolating)
in your case, either you get the requested information from your buyers to place a direct listing on Mondial Relay, or you put your eBay listings on pause
pescalune340
·1 year agoI only have a few listings on eBay and on no other selling platforms
If you say that this "bug" affects ONLY eBay and doesn't exist on the other selling platforms
then we have the answer...
As I said previously, Mondial Relay is renegotiating its partnership with
eBay and is taking sellers hostage to apply pressure
frelonverre
·1 year ago@pescalune340
on the other hand, how can you blame them when I see the shipping amounts proposed by eBay or coincoin for
sending parcels, how to pay retailers, carriers, and keep a business alive
in this virtual world all prices are driven down and when the competition is gone the "big players" in a monopoly position will readjust their prices
lysa-elec
·1 year agoebay is not here to negotiate but to make money
don't forget that we have been paying ebay fees on shipping for some years now!
pescalune340
·1 year agoI think Mondial Relay may be putting the screws to eBay to get
better rates. If eBay doesn’t give in, there will be a significant drop in sales and therefore eBay’s revenue. It had been a long time anyway since MR had increased its shipping rates with eBay, while La Poste, on the other hand, never forgets to raise them every year in February.
I’ve sent parcels of almost 2 kg to home addresses in neighboring countries for €9.20, try doing that with international Colissimo and you’ll cry. It’s ultra competitive.
For now the site is still down for everyone, with eBay or outside eBay, so maybe they
are just trying to slow down traffic to clear out the mountains of accumulated parcels. We’ll wait until Monday.
As for the fact that eBay takes a commission on shipping fees, everyone agrees that’s outrageous. Unfortunately, we’re paying for all the fraudulent sellers who used to shift part of the sale price onto shipping fees when eBay didn’t take a commission on them.
It’s the only way they found to block that loophole.
Especially since I charge the real shipping costs, because buyers know the rates very well and if you try to overcharge to make up for what eBay takes, they destroy you in the ratings.
But that’s how it is, we don’t have a choice.
frelonverre
·1 year ago@pescalune340
For now the site is still down for everyone, with ebay or outside ebay, so maybe they
are just trying to slow traffic down to deal with the mountains of accumulated parcels.
I don't see where it's "down" outside ebay, I just made two labels on Mondial Relay without any problems, but it's true directly on the carrier's site
which is normal!!!!!!!!!!
pescalune340
·1 year agoThe site works again weirdly, intermittently, but like at 3am for 15 minutes
if that isn't deliberate on the part of Mondial Relay to slow down traffic....
Most of the time the site is down even for people outside ebay, directly on the site
we can't even log in
frelonverre
·1 year ago@pescalune340
just so you know, a bit of news: this morning I sent a parcel (at the standard rate) weighing 588 grams, I was expecting to pay 5.40 euros and well I paid 3.99 euros
so maybe negotiated rates will become the norm, as will easily printable labels
laiguilleur66
·1 year agoInteresting argument, but riddled with errors...
- Mondial Relay raised its rates not long ago (including on eBay), like it does about every 2 years. The €9.20 rate is no longer valid; since May 1 it has been €10.58.
- The site works perfectly outside eBay or with Packlink (for France anyway; in other countries, at best it's more expensive, at worst it's not even in the shipping options)
- A company's goal is to make money; slowing down traffic would be counterproductive...
- Yes, it's outrageous for shipping fees, but as you point out, there was fraud (back then the Chinese were specialists in €0.01 items with cumulative delivery fees). Moreover, the amount of an online transaction includes the item's price + delivery fees. So even by increasing the fees, we're still far from covering what it really costs... However, the fees you pay to eBay are taken out of the proceeds.
Also, Le Bon Coin offers reduced rates too; I often see delivery at €0.99.
That said, it's been 10 days now, so there is reason to have doubts.
Theories :
- they got hacked
- eBay wants us to use Packlink
- Mondial Relay wants to raise its fees on eBay again
- they can't find the fault (incompatibility with MR's recent update)
- the cleaning lady unplugged the wrong socket
- Obiwan Kenobi
pescalune340
·1 year agoI noted that there had been a slight recent increase in Mondial rates with ebay, but going from 9.20 to 10.58e or from 3.49 to 3.99e is all they managed to get out of ebay, and I think that is not enough.
As for deliberately slowing down traffic, they have already done it officially by temporarily closing their site with a message when they had too many parcels to handle. If they want to force ebay to give in to get better rates, they are obliged to block ebay sellers even if that hurts their revenue; that's the whole point of a standoff.
You say the site works perfectly, that's not true; most of the time you can't even log in to it, and when you do, ebay imports still don't work, and if I try to create a label directly (more expensive) without going through ebay, they no longer offer home delivery for neighboring countries. So for me the site is useless in its current state.
incompatibility between ebay and the new version of the Mondial site ??? That's false because I managed twice to import my sales when the site was working properly (at 3 a.m.) and everything was normal except that it was impossible to choose home delivery, which I need.

·1 year agoHello
As for me, I was able to import my 2 slips, but with a lot of persistence and time “wasted” endlessly refreshing.
One 2 days ago, one today.
The difficulty is getting access to the import; each time it took me a good hour (fortunately I was watching a movie in the background^^), then everything runs smoothly.
For someone who sells two or three items a day, it’s doable, but I imagine that for a professional who sells 50, it must be much more unmanageable; they probably don’t have time to keep refreshing the page^^

You can shout as much as you want and play the victim, it won’t solve the Ebay import technical problem in any way.
Personally, I was able to import my 2 slips without shouting. I posted constructively.

·2 years agoHello everyone,
I went through Packlink last night and it works, it's longer because as @Anonymous pointed out you have to do them one by one and enter the parcel dimensions. The rate seems to be the same for France, except the insurance, which is lower for light parcels. On the other hand, for a 2.8kg parcel, the free insurance was up to €75... 😲
Couldn't do a Parisian one because it keeps telling me that I haven't entered a pickup point even though there's one automatically saved... I get the impression it's too far down the list for packlink 🙄
In short, for France, the solution is to use Packlink. For foreign countries, make the customer wait or pay a bit more or cancel. 😩

·1 year agoAfter managing to order Mondialrelay shipping labels from Packling yesterday, today it's impossible: I want to pay, and I still get an error message saying there’s a problem with my payment method. A 20-year-old customer
kerminou
·2 years agoIn the meantime, I have removed all my items from sale on eBay. (There were still 83 of them.) I don’t feel like paying the difference in price between the order and Packlink’s price, which for me is more expensive than importing through Mondial Relay. On top of that, you don’t get the free €50 insurance. Because I can’t really see myself, once the order has been placed, telling the customer, "Actually, you need to pay me a little more than what was written because the eBay-MR link no longer works."
As for my items, anyway, sales on eBay are becoming marginal given the fees they take on sales and shipping, which for me are making this platform less and less competitive. Most of my sales have gradually migrated to another famous platform over time.

·2 years agoThe problem is that you have to edit and pay the shipping labels one by one, and it’s pretty tedious, especially since the phone number entered in the contact record is yours and not theirs. You have to retrieve it at the previous step in the order details.
