2023 Annual Sales Statement
Summary: The discussion concerns eBay sellers who have not received their annual sales statement for 2023, a legal obligation. lgm34_mobiles_systems expresses concern because this situation creates discrepancies during URSSAF audits, which compare the figures declared by eBay with their own. Several participants share similar experiences, noting inconsistencies in the data provided by eBay. Some, like baguesetboucles, have tried to generate their own report from eBay settings, but find this data unusable. Another participant, brigitte8401, mentions that eBay would no longer provide these statements, which is contrary to the law. This lack of clarity is fueling participants' concerns about future tax audits.
Hello,
Who has received their statement? Usually sent by Ebay to sellers around the end of January / beginning of February each year. It can't be found this year. Yet it seems to me that it has been mandatory since 2020, before 31/1 of year n+1, for sales under the general tax code.

OP1 year agoHello,
Like all of you, I have sales totals that are different from those that eBay sends every year to the tax authorities since 2020. I was audited, like many of you, over 2020 sales because of this discrepancy; I responded, and they dropped the procedure after I demonstrated my good faith. But here we go again, a new audit this time for my 2021 sales, which differ from eBay's. I am fed up with having to justify myself like this, and being wrongly taken for a fraudster, knowing that this will continue in the following years. On the other hand, it is now clear that we will probably never receive the statement of our 2023 sales transmitted by eBay to the tax authorities; it will be a nice surprise to discover the figure they will have reported to Urssaf on the day of the audit!

the best thing to do is to contact the Valbonne center directly via your URSSAF account to find out exactly what's going on.
Processing times being quite variable (For the 2020 campaign, they took 15 days and for the 2021 one, 2 days...)

·1 year agoHello everyone,
Like many of you, I did not receive the 2023 annual tax report.
Today, I called eBay, and they told me that since 2023 they no longer send it to us.
I pointed out that it was a legal obligation for them to do so, so that we could compare what they declare to the tax authorities with what we declare.
And there! the person told me that it was up to me to make my annual report.
So there’s no way to know what was declared to the tax authorities, grrr
It’s impossible to make sense of them anymore

·1 year agoHello,
I have the same issue as you all, that is to say that my figures do not match the eBay annual statement.
So, I had an URSSAF audit for 2020 with a payment adjustment of around €560 and now I have another one for 2021 in progress; I sent the documents, we'll see!
I don't understand anything anymore about eBay's annual summary, I keep my accounts in my income logbook every month and it absolutely does not match what eBay declares.
Where are these figures coming from???
Also, I have not received the 2023 annual statement
Grrr

·1 year agoHello, I’m joining you — I’m at a little over 2K for 2021, but the figures are good on my side
But I noticed one thing and I’d like to get information from other sellers
You have a catch-up payment of 560 euros
Do you have a way to check whether, on your statements, there wouldn’t be 280 euros of disputes with refunds, order cancellations after payment so refunded, or other things?
I spent a day recalculating everything and, to within a few euros, I get to half of the amount
I have the impression that eBay sent the gross figure by adding up all annual sales, even cancelled ones, which is a double whammy since instead of having, for example, -20 euros on a sale, eBay declares that you lost +20 euros, which makes a final gap of 40 euros between the seller’s declaration and eBay’s
Thank you for taking the time to read me and try to understand my message 🙂

·1 year agoHello @flofigurine72
"Do you have a way to check whether there might be 280 euros in dispute on your statements, with refunds, order cancellations after payment so refunded, or other things?"
You can indeed obtain a report for a given period, only for refunds for example.
Go to "payments" then "reports". There you select "refund" and then the period.
The problem is that if you make the request today for the year 2021, you won't have some data because they are too "old". It is preferable to make this report this report at the beginning of the year for year N-1.
"I get the impression that eBay sent the gross amount by adding together all annual sales, even the cancelled ones"
I can confirm that this is indeed the case and eBay is fully aware of it.
Aside from this issue, for the year 2021, there was a problem (bug) and some summaries were incorrect (fees counted twice). Did you receive a corrected 2021 summary?
And finally, a "significant" difference can also be explained by the fact that the summaries are for a calendar period, whereas your URSSAF declarations are made at the time of collection.
So for 2021, you may have made sales in December 2021 declared to URSSAF in January 2022 (because collected during that period). This amount will therefore be deducted from the amount of the 2021 eBay summary.
Likewise, you probably have sales made in December 2020 that were declared in January 2021. They will therefore be added to the amount of the 2021 eBay summary.

·1 year agoThanks, so that confirms the double penalty from the cancelled sales that they count instead of deducting, which creates a double discrepancy between the 2 declarations
And normally I don't have any issues with mismatches in days and months, I pay close attention to that, but a cancelled sale a month later is rare, though it can happen
And no for the recap, I'll contact them Monday so they send it to me
And last year, in 2020, it was already the case and it was much worse with covid and the cancelled sales and all that
I've already contacted Urssaf and I checked to make it simpler, I'm sending the full set of all the sales reports from the sites I work on up to the end of 2023 so they can see for themselves that there is no irregularity

you say "Thanks, so that confirms the double hit from canceled sales that they count instead of deducting, which creates a double discrepancy between the 2 declarations"
I may have misunderstood/misinterpreted your comments.
We agree that these refunds are not deducted from the summary, but that does not create a double discrepancy between the 2 declarations.
Let's say that for 2021, you had €10,200 in revenue, but you had to refund €200 of that amount. So you declared €10,000 in revenue to URSSAF.
In this case, the amount of the eBay summary will be €10,200.
So if to date you have a discrepancy of €560, it is indeed this amount that should correspond to cancellations/refunds and not €280.

·1 year agoYes, I expressed myself badly and wrote it badly. Basically, you get charged taxes on products where you didn’t touch a cent in the end since the transaction was cancelled, but apparently eBay doesn’t care, which is completely stupid ^^

·1 year agoHello,
I found your January question and I’m in the same situation.
Urssaf is asking me for explanations regarding the 2021 amount because eBay declared an amount that doesn’t match mine. I’m sure my calculations are right because I note everything every day; eBay statements are complex and incomprehensible. So I’d like to know how you solved this problem to avoid a possible unfair tax reassessment. I doubt I’ll get a corrected certificate from eBay.
Thanks in advance for your help. Have a good evening

·1 year agohello , your message is in the topic but still talks about a more personal subject , it's not easy to discuss here what this organization has against you .
first of all , how are you related to the discussion thread "urssaf declaration of my sales" ? could that be the problem ?
francexpressdeal
·1 year agoHello @rosedebretagne
the URSSAF "audit" may not be so personal, since since last year they have been carrying out what they call a turnover reliability campaign for self-employed entrepreneurs.
https://www.autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr/portail/accueil/sinformer-sur-le-statut/toutes-les-actualites/campagne-nationale-de-fiabilis-2.html
"Self-employed entrepreneurs for whom a significant difference is found between the turnover declaration made to the tax authorities and the one made to Urssaf will be contacted by the CNFR to ensure that their declaration to Urssaf is compliant."
And the campaign concerning 2021 turnover started in April 2024.
Hello @leshop3.0
There had been a big issue with the 2021 turnover communicated to sellers. Most of them initially received an incorrect summary.
Then at the end of April eBay sent out a corrected summary.
Logically this is the summary that your tax office must have received and therefore communicated to URSSAF.
Check whether your 2021 summary has this error in the commissions. If so, eBay must send you a corrected summary like they did at the end of April 2021 for sellers affected by this problem.

·1 year agoI'm afraid we're all in the same boat
Then in the summary that eBay sends to URSSAF, there is no deduction for losses, thefts, cancellations, or unpaid transactions, which is what causes the difference between the amount declared and the one eBay gives to URSSAF
I had the same issue with the 2020 declaration; I sent all the statements to URSSAF, and the woman I spoke to on the phone told me quite clearly that it was total nonsense and that a very large number of micro-businesses working on eBay had this issue, and that for them it was an incalculable waste of time, often for nothing

·1 year agoAre the sales in question the cancelled sales, the unpaid sales? Refunded? How do I get out of this? I send the eBay reports and my receipt book to the URSSAF. Thank you
passioncreationcollection.france
·1 year agoHello
To justify it to the organization, you log into your account and request your data from Ebay
https://www.sarweb.ebay.fr/sar
Request a report
Enter the dates you need
Check the transaction report
And send
You will get a summary of all your transactions and cancellations
You reconcile it with your invoices, whose numbers follow one another, your cancellations and credit notes, and reconcile it with your payments into your bank account.

·1 year agoHello,
I just submitted the request, thanks, I'll see what it gives;
While looking on the site, I noticed that in the seller hub the total sales amount is different between the "all my orders" section (choose the period last month for example) and the "performance" section in sales. Does anyone know how to explain this? Thanks everyone

·1 year agohello
eBay response:
Indeed, a difference has been observed. I asked the Payments team to conduct an investigation.
We will keep you informed as soon as we have an update.

·2 years agosame.
all the more surprising since in the 2022 summary, ebay specifies that it is sending its email " under article 242 bis " which " obliges it to send an annual report to sellers ".
the 2022 one includes for example a line "total amount of final value fees". a summary that can more or less be enough in many cases to avoid having to do accounting reconstructions.

lgm34_mobiles_systems
OP2 years agoHello,
Of course. I keep my own accurate and reliable accounts without needing Ebay's, for my social security and tax declarations. But like many Ebay sellers, I was recently audited by URSSAF regarding my 2020 sales declaration, which did not match Ebay's for the same year (since Ebay has been sending its information to the authorities since 2020), and I had to justify my good faith and the accuracy of my figures to avoid social security and tax reassessment, which was not the case for other sellers I know of who were reassessed in the same circumstances. So I wanted to know my total 2023 sales transmitted by Ebay this year, as in all other years, so I could prepare for a possible new audit, especially since the tax code requires Ebay to inform its sellers of this. Best regards

·2 years agoHello,
Following a message about this sent to customer service, I just received the following reply:
"You can make the request directly from Ebay settings. In the Account>Request my data from Ebay section. You can specifically choose the transaction report and the dates from 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023. You will receive the report within 7 days".
I hope this will help you too.
Best regards
lgm34_mobiles_systems
OP2 years agoHello,
For information, I requested the data report using the procedure described earlier ("You can request it directly from Ebay settings. In the Account>Request my data from Ebay section. You can choose the transaction report specifically and the dates from 01/01/2023 to 12/31/2023. You will receive the report within 7 days").
Result: it's completely UNUSABLE. This is not at all the gross total of my 2023 sales that I'm supposed to get from Ebay in this year 2024, nor even a clear and concise list, which I was expecting, that would just need to be added up to get a usable total.
Regards
