Not a clear seller
Summary: mart-2700 expresses concerns after winning an auction for a graphics card on eBay, paid for via PayPal. The seller relisted the same item without shipping it, and despite a confirmation message, the shipping status has not changed. lingma85 advises following eBay's procedures for items not received, while frelonverre suggests it could be a duplicate listing for multiple items. mart-2700 expresses doubts about the seller's honesty, noting the use of the same photos for items supposedly sold as used.
Hello, on Friday June 7 I won an auction on a graphics card that I paid for right away via PayPal , on Monday June 10 when I logged in to see if the seller had shipped my card I noticed that he had relisted the same item with the same photos and the same starting price, I sent him a message to ask why he had not sent my card and especially why he had relisted it and as the only response I got was "your card is going out today" of course the status has not changed my card has not been shipped and I have no tracking number, I reported it to Ebay which gave no response.
Do you think this is a scam and that I should cancel the sale?

you don't know if your seller doesn't have several and so made a copy-paste of the listing they sold
otherwise follow the advice of @lingma85

OP2 years agoI would agree with you if the seller had used different photos. Here we're talking about a used item, and like millions of buyers on Ebay, I buy based on the photos. But if you have 2, 3 or 10 identical used items sold with the same photos, you can really doubt the seller's honesty. No used item is the same; you will always have one item with a scratch in one place and another somewhere else, a packaging box damaged in one spot and another damaged elsewhere. In my case, I compared the photos of the item I bought and the one he is putting back up for sale, and they are strictly exactly the same.

I’m speaking from experience, and since I’m not a photographer I don’t bother fighting to retake photos, these are everyday objects; as long as they work there’s no need to check how they look, as long as the part works that’s what matters most
in any case, online photos aren’t contractual when they aren’t the manufacturer’s photos

·2 years agoHello @mart-2700
You write--> "no used item is the same"
That's correct .....
- except for certain products whose use does not change the visual appearance, which is the case for some computer products... (this is also true for other items like flower seeds or others, for example... where the seller has no need to change the photos to sell them...)
It would seem that you are being distrustful, certainly normal, but excessive...
For your intellectual well-being, it would be better if you did not buy from ecommerce, but directly in a store so you can look at (or even weigh...) whether the use of a used graphics card has caused a different visual appearance to its little used sister as well...
Best regards
