Seller who doesn't issue refunds
Summary: trac2cv expressed frustration about a seller who did not honor their refund commitment after the purchase of a defective used engine. During the discussion, frelonverre suggested taking the matter to court, prompting a response from trac2cv who clarified that proceedings had already been initiated. lingma85 advised exploring the European Small Claims Procedure, which trac2cv has already pursued through the European Consumer Centre. Finally, trac2cv indicated that they received the refund five months after acquiring the voucher.
hello
I’m reaching out to the community about the seller
we bought a used engine at the beginning of the year, and it was defective
the seller issued a credit note and promised to refund part of the amount as compensation in June
today, despite all our follow-ups, emails and steps taken; the seller is turning a deaf ear and is not honoring his commitment
he sweet-talked us into paying outside of Ebay, we got taken in
is there anyone else in our situation
thank you

in your post from September 12, you indicated: "We have submitted the case to the European Consumer Centre"
Have you heard back from them?

As far as eBay is concerned, you will have no recourse since the transaction was made off site.

·1 year agoHello @trac2cv
Since all of ebay's help deadlines have passed and your seller is German....
- you can try this lead------->
The European Small Claims Procedure (cec-zev.eu)
But be careful it's not free... look at the bottom of this information page, you'll find the fees to pay... it mustn't cost you more than the price of the engine.. because that wouldn't be worth it.

to have less aggression, people asking questions should respect the site's guidelines to avoid ending up in unpleasant situations
nothing obliges us to show compassion toward people who ignore the rules of a site they use
