hello, I am an individual registered on ebay since 2010 and I have always made small sales and transactions on it; recently, I started selling quite a few complete and incomplete video games from my collection, and also doing a bit of buying/reselling.
A red banner appeared on my ebay account a few days ago asking me to provide my tax identification number. I didn't really understand because I hadn't exceeded €2000 in sales. Since January 2024 I have thus made about €600 in sales, well below the €2000 threshold not to exceed.
What I didn't know is that you also had to not exceed 30 transactions or more.
I have several questions:
1) So will Ebay pass the €600 on to the tax office?
2) will this amount be shown on the tax return?
3) regarding the annual threshold of €2000 not to exceed and 30 transactions, is this for each platform (ebay, **bleep**, lbc...) or cumulative across all these sites? for example on these sites, if you don't exceed these thresholds, will the platforms not ask for the tax number?
4) I have a recent transaction on ebay that I cancelled because the buyer told me that the video game he had bought from me was malfunctioning. So I refunded him. Does this count as a transaction?
