After an order from the States from a seller of miniatures I’m used to buying from, I’ve got a big problem with customs fees in our country. Let me explain
When I bought through eBay, at checkout I paid the taxes and duties of $280, which in itself isn’t shocking and is normal. But DHL handles the delivery and this morning I got a nasty surprise: I have to pay €253 in taxes 😡 after several follow-ups by email and WhatsApp (which is pretty good) and a call at 8:10 a.m. to tell me. Okay, well, I’m paying because I have no choice, otherwise I won’t receive anything, and from memory I can ask eBay for a refund in case of a duplicate charge, except that my order is in three boxes and here we go again, a second tax of €257 to pay 😡 which for now I haven’t paid ... has anyone already had this happen? how do you get reimbursed because paying the tax 3 times is out of the question, that’s theft, knowing that I already paid my taxes at the time of purchase, thanks in advance everyone for your help

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply 😌, for the VAT refund principle no worries, I know the principle but my problem is that the carrier charges me VAT twice and I don’t think eBay will refund me that amount 🙄

If it's the carrier who's charging you VAT twice...
- you need to sort it out with them... contact them and ask for an explanation.
