Please specify why they're asking you for this other payment...
Could it be for paying a deposit? (if that's the case, it's mentioned in the ad: read it carefully again)

Whatever the reasons given... don't leave the eBay system for your buyer protection... so you can handle any possible dispute (with the site's help, for example..)
At the time of purchase, there is then the payment requested by eBay.
- go through this request and do what is asked...
If your seller refuses... you ask to simply cancel this transaction....

- that smells bad.
