Buyer canceled their purchase, fees?
Summary: pasle000 sold an item for 12 euros, but the buyer requested cancellation right after. pasle000 doesn’t understand why an amount is on hold and is worried about possible fees related to this canceled transaction. lingma85 advises contacting eBay customer service to clarify the situation and make sure no fees are charged to pasle000 since the cancellation was initiated by the buyer.
Hello, I listed an item for sale;
A buyer purchased it (12 euros), and immediately after asked to cancel the sale;
I did not send the item (besides, eBay did not provide me with a shipping label). I did not receive the 12 euros (obviously)
In the item summary, eBay states:
"Blocked amount 10.40 EUR Order amount withheld from payouts "
My questions:
what does this mean? Will eBay refund 10.4 euros to the buyer? Is it really the buyer who has fees for a cancelled transaction?
What does it mean to have a 1.2 euro fee? who does it apply to? I don't want to have to pay anything...
which response should I select on eBay?: Refund the buyer? however I can't, I have to choose a payment option, and the options tab won't open...

It would be abnormal for me to have fees (and a fee credit.....I don't really know what that means exactly) for a sale I couldn't complete because of a buyer error....

and explain that the cancellation was not your doing... but at the buyer's request.
