Aggressive buyer on the return
Summary: t-societe explains that they sold a GPS at auction and that the buyer insisted on fast shipping. After it was sent, the buyer started sending unpleasant messages and complaining about the product, demanding a return. Despite difficult exchanges and the buyer’s threats, t-societe accepted the return, but is now facing a lack of cooperation regarding the return of the package. koalagris advises that t-societe cannot go back on accepting the return and suggests using the original weight for the shipping label. t-societe thanks them for the advice.
Hello everyone,
I need some advice on a situation: I sold a Garmin eTrex 20 GPS (2012) at auction.
The person who won the sale asked me to send it urgently (before 18/08) because he had to leave on vacation. It was the weekend before 15/08, and since I was on holiday I didn't immediately notice his message, but I replied that I would do it as best I could (knowing that in the shipping conditions I specify 3 working days), which left me until 17/08 to send it, but anyway I told him no problem. Once the package was handed over to the post office, I scanned the delivery slip (as usual), and from that point on the messages became more and more unpleasant. He sent me several messages, the tracking number is not right, he demands a reply that I don't provide because I'm on holiday and not glued to my PC or my phone. I still try to reassure him by saying that I did send the package and that he will have it on time, despite that he tells me I'm not serious, that it's nonsense, and that he'd better receive the package or else things are going to get ugly... He’s getting on my nerves a bit, but I let it go. On top of that, his spelling is enough to make your nose bleed, text-message language, etc... after being attacked in his messages (by the spelling and his comments) I left him a positive review (he did the same) while specifying "communication complicated". I could tell from his response that I had upset him, but it's the truth. Now he’s sending messages saying the GPS is useless, the operation too, that the signal is weak, that he's not satisfied, plus threats... and he marks the reason as defective item (which is false) since I always test the items I sell. So basically there’s a return request, I made him wait a bit because he really pissed me off, and I finally accepted the return, but told him to weigh his package so I can make a correct slip (weight), and there he tells me it's not my problem, figure it out yourselves. What would you do in my place, do I have any way to finally go back on the return acceptance?
Thanks in advance
koalagris
Mentor3 years agoHello @t-societe
"do I have any way to finally go back on the return acceptance" = no, in any case you couldn’t have refused it at all since the reason given is non-compliance...
For the weight, put the same as on the outbound trip, since the buyer isn’t being cooperative (and may be trying to make you miss the action deadline so they can ask eBay to intervene and get a refund without returning it).
Best regards
