Buyer not respecting the terms of sale, the buyer is penalized 9€ deducted from his account
Summary: loli4363 shares a frustrating experience on eBay where a buyer did not respect the sales conditions clearly stated in the listing, which required an in-person handoff with payment on the spot. After canceling the sale, eBay charged €9 to loli4363's account because the listing was sponsored, a penalty seen as unfair. Customer service mentioned a possible refund, but without any guarantee because of the sponsored nature of the listing. loli4363 feels it is unfair to be penalized for the buyer's failure to respect the conditions.
Hello everyone,
for your information.
A buyer bought an item on my account, where it is specified that hand delivery only is allowed, with payment on site after checking the condition of the item.
The buyer bought the item, paid for it, THEN messaged me asking me to ship the item to him.
The listing offers NO shipping option at all.
So I had to cancel the sale on the grounds of an address problem... since that is the only possible option in such a case.
Surprise, while the refund order was indeed carried out by Ebay, they debited 9E from my account on the grounds that it is a sponsored listing.
So, great, it's the seller who gets sanctioned and penalized because the buyer does not respect the sales conditions written in bold in the listing... If eBay has to get paid, let it get paid by the buyer who does not respect the clearly stated sales conditions.
Customer service told me I might be refunded, but apparently it is not certain because the listing is a sponsored listing.....INCREDIBLE.
I should not be penalized because a buyer does not take the listing's sales conditions into account and tries to force shipping afterwards.
