Buyer who won’t go pick up their registered letter stamp
Summary: culture-fusion expresses frustration toward a buyer who isn’t picking up the stamp they sent by registered mail. They’ve sent several messages without a reply and are worried they may have to refund the buyer. koalagris advises that the refund would only cover the item, not the registered-mail fees, according to eBay’s guarantee policy. culture-fusion thanks them for the information.
Hello everyone,
For some time now, I’ve been dealing as much with sellers as with buyers who are nowhere to be found. This time it’s a buyer of a stamp sent by registered mail with Laposte who isn’t giving any sign of life.
Between the thank-you message, the message with the tracking number, and the one informing him that the mail carrier left a notice to pick up the letter, I’ve sent him 3 messages that have gone unanswered.
Since 02/06/2026 the stamp has been waiting at a LaPoste office near his home. Soon it will be sent back to me and I’ll have to reimburse him, even though I paid for the registered mail.
What else can I do, beyond what I’ve already done?
Thank you all for your replies.

Mentor2 months agoHello,
"Soon it will be sent back to me and I should reimburse him for it even though I paid for the registered shipping." = no, you will only reimburse him for the item, since in the event of non-collection the eBay money-back guarantee does not apply:
