Hello, I sold and sent an item to a buyer. After receiving it, they’re making a return request for a damaged item, even though in the message they sent me, they specified that it was just not what they were looking for. What can I do?
Knowing that the buyer could very well have claimed the item wasn’t received in order to get a refund easily while keeping the item, since you ship by green letter (so without tracking or proof of delivery): I strongly urge you to change the shipping method on your 2 current listings.
Except that in the event of loss, tracked mail does not entitle you to compensation for the lost item, in which case you would have to reimburse the buyer out of your own pocket: at your own risk.
So it's better to send it with insurance covering the value of the order.

There’s nothing you can do about it: send them a return label so you can get your item back:

If they report a defective item, you accept the return but only refund once the item has been received back ..
You will also need to provide a return slip.
In the event that you refuse, eBay refunds the buyer (with your money) and they can keep the item they bought..
