Delivery address not accepted
Summary: ancolie expressed concerns about selling two items on eBay to a buyer located in the USA, despite shipping restrictions outside France. *miss-tigri* suggested setting up shipping conditions in the eBay account settings. ancolie later discovered that the buyer lives in France, but the address was not clearly shown in the order details, which caused the confusion. jacquelinedu36 pointed out that the registration location could be different from the shipping address.
Hello,
I sold 2 items to the same person, and it was clearly specified that I refused shipping outside France. Or more exactly:
"Destination :
France
Excluded :
PO box, Africa, Central America and the Caribbean, North America, South America, Asia, Southeast Asia, Belarus, Middle East, Oceania, Russia, Ukraine", specified in the "shipping and delivery" section.
Yet Ebay accepted the bids from a person living in the USA!
So I canceled the transaction, but this is a loss for me, due to an Ebay error. I will have to start the entire sales process over again, even though other bidders were interested.
How is such an error possible? How can it be avoided in the future?
Does Ebay offer nothing, neither an apology nor compensation?
A thousand thanks.

OP2 years agoNo need to reply, thanks.
The buyer is in France, but that wasn't indicated anywhere in the order details, and all I had to go on was her page, which specified that she was in the USA. Why doesn't her French address appear in the order details? A mystery...

Mentor2 years agoHello
You must not only include the delivery terms in the sales listing, but you also need to save these terms in your account settings:
