GCC alert on all my listings: are you affected?
Summary: enmodeglam has noticed a new warning regarding the General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) on their eBay listings, although they only sell lingerie and women's clothing in France and do not ship to the U.S. francexpressdeal suggested excluding the U.S. from the shipping options and shared that they do not experience the same issue. enmodeglam has already tried excluding all countries except France, but the problem persists, and they are waiting for a response from eBay's support. Despite promotional discounts, sales have stopped, and they are eager to hear from other sellers regarding similar experiences.
Hello everyone,
I’ve just noticed that a new warning appears on all my shop listings when I edit them.
The message shown is as follows:
"The General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) is not included in the item specifics."
⚠️ To check whether this affects you, it’s not enough to just open a listing. You need to:
select one or more listings in the Seller Hub;
click "Edit" (or use bulk editing);
make a real change (for example, change a shipping method or another field);
then see whether a warning banner appears at the top of the page and in front of each listing.
I sell exclusively women’s lingerie and clothing for adult women in the Women’s Fashion categories.
I should also point out that I sell only on eBay France and ship only within France. My products are not intended for children, which makes this request for a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) very surprising.
So I have several questions:
Are other sellers seeing the same message?
Is this an eBay bug or a new requirement?
Have you found a way to remove this alert?
Could this mention affect the visibility or ranking of listings in search results (because since then I haven’t sold anything)?
I’ve already contacted eBay support to get an explanation, but I’d be very interested in your feedback and experiences.
Thanks in advance to everyone who can test this on their listings and share what they found.

Mentor3 weeks agoHello @enmodeglam
from what I could read online, this new regulation applies to products imported into the United States since July 8, 2026.
Indeed, you don't ship to the United States, but have you tried adding the United States to the excluded countries (since that's not the case currently)?
What did customer service tell you about this?
enmodeglam
OP3 weeks agoYes, I even tried putting all countries on the exclusion list except France, it doesn’t change anything, weird ...

OP3 weeks agoCustomer service hasn’t replied to my email with a screenshot that I sent yesterday yet, I’m impatiently waiting for the response .....

I had asked you about the excluded countries because for now there are only Belarus, Ukraine, Russia:

it seems that my last reply didn't "go through". I'm sending it again without the screenshot:
"I had asked you about the excluded countries because for now there are only Belarus, Ukraine, Russia"
enmodeglam
OP3 weeks agoYes, yesterday I added all the excluded countries to my delivery conditions and it’s still the same. So I put it back as it was this morning because it doesn’t change anything.

OP3 weeks agoWhat I’d like to know is whether this also happens with other sellers (I should point out it’s only visible when you edit listings simultaneously on the edit page). It worries me because since then I haven’t sold anything at all, despite promos of -40% and -20% on almost all of my items.

I've done some tests and I don't get the message.
From what I've read, a product category I have would be affected by this regulation, but in my shipping settings the United States are excluded.
That's why I had asked you the question about the excluded countries.
I just found the page concerning this regulation on ebay.com :
Consumer Product Safety Commission Regulations | Seller Center

ok.
In that case, you'll have to wait for eBay's response.
Just in case, have you checked the new issue resolution area to see if there's more info:

OP3 weeks agoYes, nothing, everything is okay on my account normally. I'm waiting for eBay's response because it's very strange
