misleading ad... approved by eBay
Summary: sebamain0 shares a negative experience on eBay, where a seller incorrectly described vinyl records as first pressings when they were reissues. After contacting the seller, he reported the issue to eBay, which nevertheless validated the listings. sebamain0 expresses disappointment with this response, believing it encourages deception. max2661953 asks how to prove they are reissues, while lingma85 explains that eBay is a platform and that responsibility for descriptions lies with the sellers, pointing out that only a limited number of reports can be handled.
I’m asking for your opinion and your attention.Indeed, on several occasions I have noticed that a seller did not describe their item correctly.Vinyl records sold as first pressings when they were actually reissues(the price can be hugely different) listed for sale.I first contacted the seller and, in light of their response, I reported it to eBay
Tonight eBay is validating the seller’s "lie".I find that deplorable. It opens the door to deception, scams, lies.
I will no longer buy on eBay unless they change their policy for verifying items listed online

Surprising and/or annoying as it may seem to you.... ebay is just a sales platform that puts sellers and buyers in contact...
The site leaves responsibility for the content of the listings to their creator, that is, the seller...
Then, in the event of a complaint, counterfeiting and other proven issues... the site will react in order to remove them, but this will only be on a case-by-case basis because it cannot sift through all the listings that are posted... That is why there is a "report listing" tab on each one... and then the handling of these reports is done internally and here, no one knows the methods or the limits (apart from what concerns VERO...)
Best regards

·2 years agoGood evening, @sebamain0 ,
How can you be sure they are reissues?
And how do you want EB to verify what you're saying?
