Cancellation after winning a bid
Summary: ralyle shared an experience about accidentally buying two similar lots on eBay because the photos were almost identical. One participant pointed out that only the seller could cancel the order, but ralyle noted that they live in Algeria and use an address in France to avoid theft. Another reply mentioned the possibility of the seller canceling if payment wasn’t made. In the end, ralyle thanked the seller for her professionalism and confirmed that the purchase had been successfully corrected.
Living in Algeria I didn’t get a call from eBay for help, I bid and won an auction, the problem in the heat of the moment and really wanting this lot I bought the same product a second time from the same person, because the photos of the two lots were almost identical. What should I do knowing that the seller was very professional and just directed me to call eBay, otherwise I’m going to have to pay for two lots, the one I’m waiting for and the one I bought by mistake. Thanks for your help

Mentor2 years agoHello @ralyle
There’s nothing to be done about it: you registered in France falsely, since you live in Algeria.
Only the seller has the ability to initiate an order cancellation, which they do not seem to want to do.
If you don’t pay, a default on payment will be recorded on your account.

OP2 years agoI've been on eBay for years and I've always mentioned, following
my purchases or shipments, that I live in Algeria and the address in France
was to receive my purchases because I've already had thefts at the
post office here in Algeria. Look at my feedback, I'm always rated well,
thank you for your reply, which I find a bit blunt.

Mentor2 years agoHello
The seller has 30 days to cancel a purchase
https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/getting-paid/annuler-une-commande-en-tant-que-vendeur?id=4136&st=3&pos=3&query=Annuler%20une%20commande%20en%20tant%20que%20vendeur&intent=Annu&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1090
he will probably do it after 5 days (mandatory delay) for non-payment ..
