order cancellation
Summary: yoangode0 is facing two problems as a seller. First, a listing was not put on pause as expected, leading to an unwanted sale with cancellation fees. Second, a buyer is not responding for an in-person handoff, and cancelling would result in fees seen as unfair. lingma85 and *miss-tigri* offer advice, including the option of contacting eBay customer service to resolve the issues. koalagris clarifies the conditions attached to payments and no-fee cancellations. yoangode0 plans to contact eBay about the second situation.
Hello,
I have 2 order issues as a seller.
The first, I thought I had put the listing on pause, but apparently the site didn't take that into account, someone buys the item, I have to cancel because I no longer have the item. It seems that fees apply. Have I understood correctly? The buyer will be fully refunded?
Second issue, a buyer asks for an in-person purchase, and then doesn't show up for days. I want to cancel this sale then, especially since I have a lot of interested buyers on other sites, but once again, I see fees!! Even though I'm not at fault?? How is that possible?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Mentor9 months agoGood evening
There are no fees if you cancel the transaction for non-payment (if that is indeed the case)

OP9 months agoHello, it's not a non-payment, but a failure to get in touch, so it's impossible to sell.

Mentor9 months agoHello @yoangode0
"it's not a non-payment, it's a lack of contact"
What we're asking you is whether the buyer paid online or not...
If they didn't, you have access to the non-payment dispute to cancel free of charge.
Best regards

OP9 months agoIt was paid for properly, but since he isn't replying to me about the hand delivery, I have to cancel.

Mentor9 months agook, so we can rule out this solution.

Mentor9 months agoHello
If you cancel the sale, you can benefit from a fee credit..

Mentor9 months agoGood evening @yoangode0
Your issues...--->
1) - an ad cannot be "paused" when the item is sold elsewhere.. It has to be officially ended------>
End a sale | eBay
For your problem... it's obvious that eBay won't let a bad impression for the buyer slide... and penalizes the seller so they don't do it again..
Refunding the buyer... that's here, if they haven't opened a dispute for item not received.------->
Refund buyers | eBay
2) - contact customer service for this problem... it's here--->
eBay Customer Service
Preferably contact them during office hours and ask to be called back.

OP9 months agoHello,
Yes, I meant to say be cancelled. I did that for several listings but apparently not for this one.
I made the cancellation, but the summary isn't clear, it looks like the buyer still has fees anyway, which I find pretty unfair 😕
And for the 2nd situation, yes, I'll call them.
Thanks
