Sale cancellation impossible

Summary: glasnost2004 ran into a problem after selling an item abroad and paying for shipping via Mondial Relay before the buyer had paid for the item, which resulted in an incorrect payment validation on eBay. The cancellation of the sale was refused, and glasnost2004 risks being charged fees. *miss-tigri* suggested contacting eBay customer service to resolve the issue.

I sold an item by accepting the offer made by the buyer abroad.

I got myself all mixed up and paid for Mondial Relay (via the eBay / Mondial Relay pairing) before the buyer had even paid me for the item. This had the consequence of validating that I had received payment for the item in my eBay account. So I tried to cancel the sale - it was refused !!

So I end up with my item supposedly paid for by the buyer when it hasn't been, and with a Mondial Relay shipping label paid for by me, even though I can't send the item because it hasn't been paid for.
On top of that, the eBay fees for this ghost "sale" are going to be charged to me on March 31.

Triple whammy ..

Do you have a solution you could suggest to me, possibly?
