Cancellation of a sale - with fees
Summary: lascaryal expressed confusion about a sale cancellation on eBay, saying that after choosing the reason "cancellation requested by buyer," eBay was planning to give them a fee credit. They were wondering what this "fee credit" means and want a full refund, since they don’t plan on making any more sales. *miss-tigri* shared a link to a help page, while lingma85 explained that a credit is a balance used to pay future fees, but if the fees were charged to a card, they should be refunded to that card, except for €0.35 in non-refundable fees.
Yesterday I made my first sale and probably my last… because the next day the buyer asked me to cancel it. That’s no problem at all. But when I cancel it, making sure to choose the reason: "Cancellation requested by buyer," eBay seems to withhold a fee credit from me. What does that mean in English? Will I be refunded? I don’t need a fee credit since I won’t be making any more sales. I just want the sale canceled, period! And that’s the end of it.
Thank you very much in advance for your help, which would be very welcome, because I’ve already called customer service twice and I still don’t understand anything.

OP2 years agoThank you for your response but I have already read it and I’m sorry but it’s not clear to me and besides, customer service wasn’t able to clarify it for me either. What does “refund of fees” mean, basically would I have money in my seller account for my next sales? Or will the sale be fully refunded with no fees deducted? For me, when you talk about a credit note it’s a voucher to pay with. Could you please clarify this for me.
The sale was €93, I was being charged about €13 in fees. When I cancel it, it says that Refund amount is €80 with Fee credits of €13. Where do these €13 go?
Thank you for helping me.

An "avoir" is generally an advance on a payment.... (or more simply => a credit or a refund to be made...)
So a credit note will exist on your seller account and this amount can only be used to pay other commissions or fees coming up...
Fee credits | eBay
At the bottom of the page of the link above, there is a paragraph that explains this in detail...
" If all the fees were charged to a bank card, they will be refunded using the same payment method used to pay them" - Except for €0.35, which are non-refundable fees...
