Fake tracking number scam (PC Gamer delivered to another city) – Need help
Summary: m8g86_13 was the victim of a scam involving a fake tracking number for an eBay purchase, where the package was delivered to a different city and on a delivery date earlier than the purchase. They’re asking for advice on how to get a refund, fearing that the dispute will be closed automatically by eBay. lingma85 suggests following eBay’s procedures to report the item as not received and insisting on proof of incorrect delivery. They warn about how hard it is to reach a human customer service rep because of the prevalence of AI.
Hello everyone, I’ve just been the victim of a fake tracking number scam and I’d like your advice on how to proceed to get my refund from eBay. I bought a gaming PC for €380 on July 8. The seller provided a Colis Privé tracking number showing that the package was shipped on July 6 (that is, 2 days before my purchase) and that it was delivered on July 13. When I go to the Colis Privé website, the number shows a delivery in a completely different city, while I live in Amiens! The tracking also shows delivery in a “mailbox,” which is impossible for a complete desktop PC. The seller used another customer’s tracking number to fool eBay’s system. Since the order status is “Delivered,” I’m afraid eBay’s bots will automatically close my dispute for “Item not received.” How can I make sure a human advisor reviews my evidence (especially my screenshot from Colis Privé showing the wrong delivery city)? What’s the best course of action to follow? Thanks in advance for your help!

It seems to me that first of all, things have to be done in the right order... namely, follow what is indicated in this link------> Get help with an item that hasn't arrived | eBay
If tracking shows delivery to an address other than yours, you'll need to say so, with a copy of the scan (if possible), and also insist on showing that the shipping date is earlier than your purchase... which means that this tracking number is not about you.
If you have a problem with how the dispute is going... come back here. There will always be someone to guide you if possible.
But finding a human in Customer Service is now almost a mission impossible... so present is AI everywhere....
Best regards
