Item arrived broken
I ordered a dish. Unfortunately, it arrived in small pieces even though the outside of the package is perfectly intact. I’d be tempted to say the inner packaging was a bit insufficient, but that’s a matter of perspective. The seller says it was enough. He’s sending me back to Ebay or the carrier and refusing returns. I’m a bit surprised by how abrupt his response was and I don’t know how to proceed. What should I do?

("return refused" only applies to returns for personal convenience, not when the delivery is not as described; as for the carrier, if there is no exterior damage, they will claim a packaging defect by the sender, so nothing to expect from them, and even then: carriers only compensate the sender, so sellers remain responsible for the proper delivery of their items)

The seller is responsible for ensuring their parcel is properly delivered. They cannot blame the carrier if the packaging is intact ..
Open a dispute by requesting a return and refund as well as a shipping label..Follow the procedure here⤵️
