Warning: EBAY does not refund you
Summary: lauravader shared a frustrating experience on eBay, saying that a book they ordered was never received and that the steps to get a refund failed. Several participants, including madelodie and koalagris, explained the procedures for handling a dispute, notably the need to follow the appeal deadlines. Tension arose when lauravader challenged eBay's policy and said they intended to file a complaint. The exchanges turned sour, with discussions about personal responsibility and forum members' behavior.
Hello,
I want to warn the eBay community to be careful, because I ordered a book for 35e from a seller who NEVER sent the package despite my many follow-ups, so I had to wait a certain number of weeks to open a dispute and once I did that I contacted the seller again and once again I did not get a response.
30 days later I was surprised not to have heard anything from eBay, nor to have received a refund, so I tried to contact them and SURPRISE the dispute had been closed and apparently it was up to ME to contact eBay after the dispute to request a refund again. So I lost my money, eBay does not want to refund me for a product I never received, that is simply theft.
I asked for the contact details of the head office by phone as well as a complaints address which they refused to give me.
Run away and do not order from this site anymore, which prefers to favor its dishonest sellers rather than protect its buyers!
I am going to file a complaint against you and notify the DGCCRF of your practices.

Mentor2 years agoHello @lauravader
The Terms and Conditions are clear: you have between the 3rd and the 21st day after opening the dispute to ask the site to intervene (otherwise it is closed with no further action).
https://www.ebay.fr/help/buying/default/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
if you had taken action within the allotted time, you would have been refunded.
A dispute has to be handled; it’s not enough to open it and wait........
If you paid by PayPal, check their site to make a new claim for item not received, because on eBay only 1 dispute per item is possible.
best regards

OP2 years agoIs it your family business that you defend it like this?
Ebay is the only company that asks for double verification after opening a dispute for the first time. This is a fraudulent practice, and the proof is that I’m not the only one complaining about it.
I ordered a product, I never received it, they refund me, end of story.
That’s the basics of sales principles.
Regards.

you buy a book, you don't receive it, you open a dispute and YOU FOLLOW UP ON IT !
That's the absolute basics of buying online !

OP2 years agoYes, of course, you are a PRO seller on Ebay, so there's no need to look any further. When we see that you spend your time on the forum defending a company that is clearly at fault, we quickly understand what's going on.
They won't catch me out again, that's for sure.

Mentor2 years agoPlease spare us your inappropriate remarks... making a factual observation, with supporting evidence, is not defending (in case you were able to grasp the nuance), and it is out of line to take your frustration out on forum participants.
You did indeed tick the "I have read and accept the terms of use" box when you signed up, and incidentally it is more than a shame to come to the forum just to complain when all is said and done, when we could have informed you about the time limit for action and the risk of exceeding it.
On all platforms there are dispute deadlines, and forums are very often there to make up for the laziness of some people in finding out about them...

OP2 years agoWell, how funny, you also feel targeted even though I wasn’t speaking to you?
I have better things to do than keep up a dialogue with your little group. I said what I had to say and unlike you I’m here to help and warn this community, I have better things to do than reply all day on a forum (when it doesn’t even concern you, ah but yes, silly me, you’re defending your peers, that’s right)

Mentor2 years ago? = your 6:19 p.m. post is indeed in reply to mine (it says so on it: read it again).
you're warning no one: you're just showing that you were too lax and, through lack of knowledge, missed the deadline to get the site involved (which you now blame for not having acted 🤔).
it's more like we have the clear impression of wasting our time with someone who doesn't want to hear anything and is throwing a tantrum like a kid who just dropped his ice cream...

·2 years agoHello,
the dispute opens after the estimated delivery date on the listing and you have 30 days to request e Bay’s intervention if you do not receive the item.
At this point you can no longer open a second one.
If you paid by Paypal you benefit from 180 days to open a dispute on the site.
Best regards.

OP2 years agoI didn’t pay by PAYPAL so no, I have no way of getting a refund.
thx.
