ATTENTION EBAY IS GOING TOO FAR.....
Summary: ablb-destock, a professional seller on eBay, shares a frustrating experience involving a parcel that got stuck and a dispute with a Belgian buyer. Despite her efforts to resolve the problem with Mondial Relay and eBay, she finds herself in a situation where the buyer is refunded, but she risks losing both the money and the parcel. She criticizes eBay for usurping her right to dispute the decision and expresses her intention to leave the platform. Another participant suggests selling elsewhere, and another recommends contacting a Community Manager for better assistance.

Professional seller for several years on Ebay and having a Positive profile (100%% positive feedback) I’m going to explain the dangerous procedure for us sellers that Ebay is currently applying (We’re on the wrong side of the law)
-A buyer orders a laptop from me from Belgium
-I ship it via Mondial relay as requested
-The package is blocked at the Harnes Hub since 08/31, that is, 4 days with no movement
- I receive a dispute from the buyer saying that he has not received his order.
-I reply that there seems to be an issue or a delay and that I’m calling Mondial relay
-Mondial relay opens an investigation (package search)

OP3 years agoOn 08/09 I received the dispute being turned into a decision to be made by eBay within 48 hours
-On 09/09 I received an email from eBay saying they had decided to refund the buyer
-I call eBay to ask them if the parcel gets unstuck and arrives to the buyer, what happens
-She explains to me that I can contest the decision within 30 days but only once, and after 30 days you have to sort it out with the buyer
-I explain to her that we can end up in a tricky situation with a buyer who has been refunded and a parcel received but not within the expected timeframe
-What a surprise to see 3 hours later that the appeal of the decision had been refused. Who made this request? I never made the request via my interface or through eBay Customer Service.
-I call eBay back, stunned by this abuse of the right to activate the appeal request without my consent
-The story is completely different: Even with the appeal, if the parcel is delivered even during those 30 days, there will be no refund to the seller. : Basically he lost everything, unlike the buyer who will have gained everything: parcel + refund
-I inform her that she is saying the opposite of her colleague, but being tired of these exchanges with incompetent customer service, I simply ask her to reactivate this appeal for me because I did not in any way make the request and what her colleague did is still very serious.
-It is impossible according to this person.
In summary: as a seller, we have no protection in the event of parcel delays: you will be forced to refund the buyer, but we have no way to recover our parcel if it is delivered.
Moreover, eBay allows itself to abuse our right to dispute a claim.
I wanted to inform the community about what eBay has become these days.
It has been getting more and more complicated for a few years now, but I think they have crossed the RED line.... Their
process and their abuse of rights are illegal

OP3 years agoI'm indeed wrapping up my year on eBay; I've made the decision not to work with them anymore in 2024. As far as I'm concerned, the red line has been crossed. It wasn't great before in terms of customer service and dispute resolution, but unfortunately it's getting worse and worse.
