Apple IIgs memory card lost by Mondial Relay and Zara floral dress size M.
Summary: hardhatmack31 explains that he sold a memory card that the buyer did not pick up in time, which caused the parcel to be returned, mislabeled, with a Zara dress instead of the card. The buyer opened a dispute on eBay, and his account was blocked. koalagris advises contesting the dispute by pointing out the buyer’s lack of diligence and Mondial Relay’s mistake. A few weeks later, hardhatmack31 says that everything ended well and that the buyer was found to be at fault.
Hello everyone,
Here’s what’s happened to me:
I sold a memory card, shipped it without delay, and the buyer didn’t have time to go pick it up before leaving on vacation. When he got back, he went to the Mondial Relay point and they told him the parcel had already been sent back. He kindly let me know what had happened. I received a notification that a parcel had arrived. I buy, trade, and sell a lot of things, and I have no idea what it is, but as I do every two or three days, I went to my MR point.
I opened the parcel, a brand new Zara size M dress with the price tag still on it. I can’t understand where it could possibly have come from...
After thinking it over, questioning my buyer, and cross-checking everything, it turns out it was the memory card parcel that had been mislabeled and sent back to me.
My buyer opened a dispute and eBay blocked my account.
How and to whom can I explain all this?
If you lost a floral dress worth 45 euros, I have it; if you received an Apple IIgs memory card with 256ko of ram, that’s my buyer’s one.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Mentor5 months agoHello @hardhatmack31
"My buyer opened a dispute and eBay blocked my account." = what audacity!
It was up to him to arrange to collect his purchase within the week following availability (in my opinion, it sounds mostly like buyer’s remorse)...
Be aware that failure to collect a parcel makes you ineligible for the eBay Money Back Guarantee :
https://www.ebay.fr/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/rglement-de-la-garantie-client-ebay?id=4210&st=3&pos=1&query=R%C3%A8glement%20de%20la%20Garantie%20client%20eBay&intent=garantie%20client%20exclusion&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1238#specialcoverage-inr
So you should have no trouble getting his claim dismissed by contacting customer service.
As for Mondial Relay, the label mix-up during the return seems obvious, but I strongly doubt they will be willing to admit their mistake, and therefore compensate him...
There’s also little hope that the person who received your card will come forward (especially since it could come from any sales platform).
Best regards
