Military helmet dated 1981 - restricted item
Summary: ben_140 bought a collectible military helmet on eBay UK, but it’s being held up by the global shipping center because it’s considered a restricted item. The helmet, dating from the Falklands War, is no longer in use and is over 40 years old. koalagris suggests contacting eBay customer service to sort out the problem, but worries that the parcel will be sent back to the seller.
I bought a collector's item on ebay UK, a military helmet dated 1981, which was used in the Falklands War in 1982. So it's not exactly new.
Today, I see on the global shopping center tracking that my item is blocked because it is a restricted item.
The British army hasn't used it for 30 years, they've produced two new helmets since then. It's an old steel helmet.
How do I get ebay to understand that this is a collector's item that is more than 40 years old?

Mentor3 years agoHello @ben_140
You can always ask customer service:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/account/contacting-ebay-customer-service/contacter-le-service-clients-ebay?id=4379&st=3&pos=1&query=Contacter%20le%20Service%20clients%20eBay&intent=service%20client&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1326
but I'm afraid the GSP platform will return the package to the seller...
best regards
