REP categories requiring IDUs
Summary: metaycforth received a message from Ebay regarding the new REP/IDU standards and expresses concern about the compliance of his listings. As a professional seller of electronic components, he notes that these items are not classified as EEE according to the Official Journal, but some items do not appear on Ebay's exclusion list. He suggests that Ebay make it easier to bring listings into compliance by clearly indicating which ones do not comply with the legislation. He expresses his confusion about the new regulations.
I just received a message from Ebay asking me to comply with the new REP/IDU standards,
No problem for me to bring myself into compliance.
As a professional seller, I mainly sell electronic components, and these,
according to the official gazette NOR : DEVP1427782V Text no. 123 are not EEE and therefore do not need
IDU.

No need to read everything, it's at the beginning of the text, an excerpt:
Conversely, components and consumables are not to be considered subassemblies and are therefore not EEE.
Here are some examples of components:
- connectors intended for electronic boards or cables;
- electronic components: resistor, capacitor, integrated circuit…
I also downloaded the list of categories that Ebay excluded from the REP categories but I did not find the
category " Professional equipment > Electrical equipment, supplies > Electronic components > Semiconductors, transistors > Integrated circuits (IC) " in this list even though it should be included in it.
I understand that there are new standards concerning recycling and I fully agree,
the problem is that I do not know which of my listings are compliant or not under this new
legislation ...
If EBAY could tell us, listing by listing, which ones are not compliant with the legislation,
for example by putting a red dot on the listings page, that would be easier for us
sellers to fix the problems and get in line.
Because honestly, between REP and RSPG compliance, we don't understand anything.
