Different delivery choice: UPS instead of Bpost
Summary: reclo62 asks whether it is possible to send a parcel via UPS offered by eBay instead of the recommended Bpost, as stated in their listing. koalagris replies that they are not obliged to use eBay postage and that they can use Bpost. reclo62 wonders about the buyer’s preferences and guarantees, and mentions that shipping with Bpost is more expensive than with UPS. koalagris advises informing the buyer of the change of carrier, stressing that the buyer paid for a different service. The exchange ends with reclo62 thanking them.
Hello,
I posted an ad and my item has sold, I now need to send it...
I offered "Bpost registered" as the delivery service in my listing, but Ebay is suggesting that I buy a postage label that takes me to different shipping options but not Bpost.
My question is whether I can send it by UPS proposed by Ebay instead of Bpost registered??
Thanks in advance for the answer, I need to send this package tomorrow....

Mentor2 years agoHello @reclo62
There's nothing forcing you to go through the ebay shipping platform.
= buy your shipping label directly from Bpost and then enter the tracking number on the ebay order
Best regards

OP2 years agoThank you very much for your reply, actually it is more interesting for me to go through the eBay platform but I was wondering if the buyer could request to be delivered by UPS rather than by registered mail via Bpost. I don't know if the protection guarantees are the same in both cases.
Thanks
koalagris
Mentor2 years agoThe buyer cannot claim what was not offered in the listing.
As for the difference in terms of service and delivery times between Bpost and UPS, it will be difficult to answer you given that this forum is French (as are the respondents), eBay having kindly invited our Belgian neighbors here by closing the French-speaking forum.be.
It would make sense, in my opinion, to inform the buyer of the change of carrier, but what about the fact that he will ultimately have paid more than necessary? 🤔 = up to you to decide...
