International discount code
Summary: xbunnysextoys is exploring the possibility of creating a global discount voucher for the international subscribers of their eBay shop. At present, discount vouchers created on eBay.fr cannot be used on other eBay sites. francois-o suggests using eBay's "Special Offer" option, which appears on all versions of the shop, but xbunnysextoys notes that some features are only available on eBay.com and not on eBay.fr, which limits their options. xbunnysextoys expresses the hope that these features will become available on eBay.fr in the future.
Hello,
I want to create a discount voucher for my subscribers, since I sell a lot internationally most of my subscribers are foreign (also it would be interesting if there were a feature that sorted subscribers according to criteria, including the eBay site through which they subscribed).
My problem is that if I create a discount voucher through my ebay.fr store, it cannot be used on other eBay sites through which my subscribers will probably access my store.
And so the discount voucher provided will not work for them.
So my question is, how is it possible to create a global discount voucher?
Thank you.

OP2 years agoHello @francois-o ,
I can confirm that by logging into ebay.com I can create a discount coupon that is only valid on ebay.com, even when logging in with my account created on ebay.fr 😊
I had also thought about creating the same discount coupon on all the eBay sites, but the code of a coupon created on ebay.fr cannot also be used on ebay.com or another eBay site because it is already used. This shows that the database for each site is connected at this level; on the other hand, using the coupon is not (which is a shame).
I was able to see that there is a feature to create discounts only for subscribers on ebay.com in the marketing tools, a feature not available on ebay.fr
I also can't use it on ebay.com because my main account was created on ebay.fr
All this is really a shame; if I had known, I would have created an account on ebay.com from the start 😅
I hope this feature will also be added to ebay.fr.
Thanks anyway for your reply !

Hello @xbunnysextoys 👋 Hello @koalagris 😊
Unfortunately, it is not possible to create a global discount voucher that is valid across all eBay sites. Each eBay site manages its own discount vouchers, so a voucher created on eBay.fr will not be valid on other eBay sites.
Also, logging into your account on another site will not change the fact that your account is registered on eBay.fr, so that will not solve the problem 😔.
However, there is an alternative. You can use eBay's "Special Offer" feature, which lets you offer a price reduction on one or more items of your choice. This special offer will appear on all versions of your eBay store, so all your subscribers will be able to benefit from it, whichever eBay site they use to access your store.
To create a special offer on eBay, follow these steps :
Log in to your eBay account.
Click "Sell" at the top of the page.
Select "Special Offer" from the dropdown menu.
Choose the item (or items) for which you want to create a special offer, and click "Continue".
Specify the amount of the discount you want to offer, as well as the duration of the special offer.
Confirm your special offer.
The special offer will then be displayed on all versions of your eBay store, for all your subscribers. This can be an effective way to encourage buyers to make purchases from your store.
Regards
François

OP2 years agoI have to admit that customer service is rarely much help 😅 but I’ve already contacted them by chat and was told I’d receive a reply by email as soon as possible because they didn’t have the answer to that question.
And in general in that case, the email reply isn’t much help either.
So I wanted to know whether anyone else had already found a solution to this, I can’t change my store to .com without moving to the US.
The only more or less viable solution would be to log in with my seller account on each eBay site (the ones where I can) and create a corresponding code there that would always have to be different (because apparently the code names are shared between the different eBay sites via a common database), but that’s not very user-friendly for customers because then I’d have to send out a combined newsletter with the list of each code for each eBay site, which is so-so.
What’s surprising is that there is apparently communication between the different databases, so it’s technically possible for coupons to be usable on the different sites, so I don’t understand why it doesn’t work when you want to use it on a site other than the original one.

sign-up and shop in .com maybe? 🤔
= Customer service seems best placed to answer your question.
