Damaged package during transport

I sent a parcel to my buyer (a vinyl record) via Mondial Relay in France. My parcel was very well packed (I send a lot of them, so I’m used to it). However, with this delivery, the parcel arrived with a hit on the corner of the box, which bent the corner of the record sleeve. A rare occurrence with Mondial Relay, which I use a lot and am satisfied with. Of course the customer is not happy, and on my side I’m not at fault. What can I do, contact Mondial Relay or Ebay? Are there any solutions? My parcel had standard protection.

If you had anything to do with it > you're the one responsible for the shipment > so responsible for the packaging
Contact MR > and ask for compensation if you took out insurance

Otherwise send a return slip to your buyer and refund them

Did your buyer mention the problem at the time of pickup?
If so, deal directly with Mondial Relais, but if it’s a packaging problem, you’re the one responsible..
Your buyer can also request a return for an item not as described, which you will have to accept, or ask you for a partial refund as compensation.

Mondial Relay will ONLY compensate if a damage report was made when it was picked up; if the buyer left with the package without saying anything, the carrier will not cover anything...
