Mondial Relay parcel not picked up by buyer
Summary: eva_angelica shares an experience involving a parcel shipped via Mondial Relay. The buyer, who wanted home delivery, did not pick up the parcel delivered to a pickup point and later asked for the situation to be corrected. eva_angelica wonders whether it is possible not to refund the shipping costs and asks how to proceed with eBay. koalagris asks which shipping service had been chosen and concludes that if it was validated incorrectly, the costs would be borne by eva_angelica, who acknowledges that the listing settings had not worked as expected.
Hello to everyone, and best wishes for this new year
The question has already been asked, but there is something rather strange going on with a parcel I shipped via Mondial Relay. On the day of purchase, I see in my Mondial Relay account that everything is already pre-filled for the transaction: name, buyer's postal address, locality and designated locker, parcel weight, everything is there: I confirm it and, back from the drop-off relay point, I send an email via eBay messaging to the buyer to give them the info and the MondialRelay tracking number. No reaction, no reply. That was Tuesday, December 31. Saturday evening I get a message from the buyer (the parcel had been delivered to a locker around 1 p.m. that Saturday) telling me that they are "discovering" that the parcel was delivered to a relay point even though they had requested home delivery, that they will not go and pick it up, and asking me to correct this situation!!!! I would have gladly done so if they had contacted me either before, or at the time of purchase, or by replying promptly to my message sent on December 31; I could still have gone to retrieve the parcel at the relay point, which left around 3 p.m. But once a parcel has been sent, there is nothing more that can be done. My question is this: I imagine I am going to end up in a dispute, but I would like to know whether I will at least be able not to refund the shipping costs, since the parcel will not have been collected and will be sent back to me. How should I go about this with eBay? Will the Mondial Relay tracking clearly indicate that the parcel was not received and has been sent back to the sender? Thanks in advance for your replies. Have a lovely day, everyone

Mentor1 year agoHello @eva_angelica
In the listing, you offered Mondial Relay or Colissimo (both at the same price: €4).
So what did the buyer confirm?
(if they confirmed Colissimo, then you're the one at fault)
Best regards

OP1 year agoHello and thank you for your reply. In any case, I was certain that I had removed the colissimo service from my listings at the same rate as mondial relay . Clearly that didn't work, but I didn't notice it and since everything was filled in for this parcel on Mondial Relay, and with no response from the buyer to let me know their choice, I wasn't aware of it and I wanted to send them the parcel on December 31 so they would receive it as soon as possible. So if I understand correctly, the shipping costs will also be my responsibility. Have a lovely day.
