package received empty with sand
Summary: lysa-elec shares a frustrating experience with a package sent via Mondial Relay that was allegedly emptied and filled with sand by the buyer. lingma85 suggests it could be a buyer scam and recommends challenging eBay's decision. Despite the buyer's positive feedback, lysa-elec is facing a return process with fees for an empty package. Discussions around refund options are mentioned, with advice on minimizing losses. In the end, eBay refunds the buyer based on their statement, leaving lysa-elec dissatisfied with the process. The incident highlights gaps in eBay's dispute resolution system.

OP10 months agoAttention eBay reimburses the buyer on their word
here’s the conclusion
My parcel was emptied by the buyer, who put the equivalent weight of sand in the parcel, with photos sent in their claim
claim with a request to return an empty parcel! accepted
When I ask for exterior photos of the parcel, they refuse
The dialogue was carried out only between eBay and the buyer, without me being in the loop
I asked that eBay be the point of contact for the following message:
After reviewing the dispute, we have decided to fully refund the buyer.
The buyer stated that the item did not match the description.

Mentor10 months agore.... @lysa-elec
Taking a more measured view, and from an accounting standpoint...
- you will actually lose the cost price of your item and not its sale price... (because I suppose you've added a markup coefficient to make a profit on this sale...)
Best regards

Mentor10 months agogood evening @lysa-elec
Since you’ve got to this stage....
- refund your buyer if possible and tell them to keep the empty packaging...
Either way, ebay will refund automatically... and by telling them to keep the item, you save the return shipping cost... so you lose as little as possible...

Mentor10 months agoHello @lysa-elec
"I'm in a return bay in a landfill"
What do you mean?

Mentor10 months agoHello @lysa-elec
Wouldn’t it be better to say----> " those who do not believe "....
- and I’d lean toward a scam carried out by a buyer who knows the trick...
In summary...
- it’s an unfortunate incident that seems to crop up sporadically on the site, penalizing the seller and leaving the sneaky or vindictive buyer free to keep going under another username if need be...
It’s a shame, but the Christmas season is ideal for this sort of thing... dodgy transactions, free rentals for the holidays... free gifts are also all the rage at this time of year.
Regards
PS
as for the ratings you leave, they leave the most innocent reader speechless....

Mentor10 months ago"the buyer still has 100 positive feedback ratings"
That means absolutely nothing....
- eBay decided back in 2008 that all buyers would never get tomatoes...
So...
The only recourse might be to challenge the site’s decision if the dispute was lost by you...
