Returned package, I am the seller

I’m a seller, and having had a lot of problems with shipments to Germany by tracked letter, I decided to send by Colissimo with signature so I wouldn’t have any more problems
Except that on the last sale the buyer wasn’t there and even the pickup deadline has passed and the buyer didn’t show up to collect their parcel, it’s incredible to order something only to end up putting us in a bad situation.. To this day the parcel is being sent back to me, the seller, that is, me..
How does it work because I paid the €16 for Colissimo and if the buyer opens a dispute for item not received because many people use this method to get refunded 😟I end up losing everything basically, can someone help me, thank you very much 🙏

Keep proof of tracking for your package by scan if possible...
It will cost you the €16 out of your own pocket, but that’s better than losing your item..
A tracked letter does not indicate that the recipient actually received it... it has no legal proof of receipt.
and the recipient could then claim an item not received... which would leave you unlucky enough to fully refund it and lose your item at the same time.....
You will only have to refund them the amount of the item minus the shipping costs..

in your successful sales, it states "international tracked letter" for Germany.
Was that also the case for this sale ?
