Cancelled order
Summary: jerbod25 won an eBay auction for a Pokémon card, but the seller canceled the order, claiming they had sold the item for a much higher price on another site. The participants koalagris, madelodie, and lingma85 explain that there is no possible recourse in this situation, because the seller is free to cancel the sale. They advise jerbod25 to wait until the expected delivery date has passed before opening a dispute if the refund is not received.
«Hello sorry but for 1 euro no .. anyway it's sold on another site for 450 euro sorry have a good day best regards»
I don't find it very fair to list items for auction on several sites and let the item go on the site where the bid is supposedly higher, whether for the buyer or for the eBay site
Is there any possible recourse?
Thanks for your reply

Mentor2 years agoHello @jerbod25
Reading you, it sounds like you went full "turbo" to pay for the card on which you placed a bid ...
but the seller cancelled what you call your "order"...
This rush suggests that you were expecting to make the "good" deal...
However, reading your message also suggests that you don't really know exactly what the bid you placed corresponds to...
- it is not synonymous with the final price of an item you're after, nor with moving on to a firm order...
- it is only the offer of a price that the seller is free to accept or refuse (which he did, by the way)
Therefore, your rush to pay and the fact that the seller's refusal happened at the same time means you may end up waiting to get your money refunded... (delivery delay exceeded and dispute or item not received possibly....)
On the other hand, this seller is free to list his item for sale wherever he wants if he knows how to handle the consequences.
Best regards

·2 years agoHello ,
no , the seller is not acting illegally , e Bay allows it .
The seller is free to sell as they wish .
They will pay e Bay selling fees based on the price .
If you are not refunded when the estimated delivery date on the listing expires, open a dispute for item not received .
Regards.

Mentor2 years agoGood evening @jerbod25
no: no recourse
if you don't get the refund you'll have to wait until the delivery deadline has passed before you can open a dispute for item not received.
Best regards
