eBay order via Global Shipping stuck or lost?
Summary: mimi_la_miss won an auction on eBay and ran into a delivery issue with Pitney Bowes' Global Shipping program. She received an email from Royal Mail saying the package had been delivered at 6:28 a.m., but no package had arrived. Tracking on eBay showed that the package was still at the sorting center in Lichfield. After contacting the seller, she learned that the Royal Mail email was to be ignored, since the package had not yet left the UK. She expresses surprise at Pitney Bowes' extended delays, comparing them with her previous experience with Royal Mail.
Hello everyone,
I could use a hand.
I won an auction on eBay a few days ago. The seller, based in the UK, shipped my purchase via Pitney Bowes as part of the Global Shipping program.
On 15/07, I received an email from Royal Mail informing me that my order would be delivered on 16/07. The tracking number shown in the email was different from the one displayed on eBay, but since numbers sometimes change when the parcel changes carrier, and I wasn’t expecting any other parcel from the UK, I assumed it was this one.
This morning (16/07), at 6:28am, I received another email from Royal Mail telling me that the parcel had been delivered. Obviously, nobody delivers at 6:28 in the morning, so I thought it was an automatic email.
Problem: I stayed at home all day, no delivery received. I checked my mailbox, I asked my neighbors: nothing.
I go back on eBay to check the tracking, and there, surprise: eBay still says the parcel is delayed at the Global Shipping program sorting center in Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 8UR.
I'm a bit lost. I can't figure out how to contact Pitney Bowes, I've written to the seller but I haven't had a reply yet.
Would anyone know how to contact Pitney Bowes or how to resolve this kind of situation?
Thanks in advance for your help.

OP1 year agoHello,
I got a reply from the seller, who confirmed that I needed to ignore the Royal Mail email. It was simply saying that my parcel had arrived at the Lichfield shipping center.
However, I’m quite surprised by the shipping times via Pitney Bowes.
Having lived in London for five years, I regularly sent parcels to France, and Royal Mail never took that long.
To this day, my parcel hasn’t even left the United Kingdom yet.
