How to respond to the dispute?
Summary: pradenn2 bought an item on eBay that did not match the description because it had a crack. After trying to resolve the issue with the seller, who opened a dispute, pradenn2 asks for help responding to it. koalagris explains that, in general, a seller can only open a dispute for non-payment and advises following eBay's return procedure to get a refund.
The item was not as described; it is a plate with a crack rather than in perfect original condition as described. I tried unsuccessfully to communicate rationally with the seller, but she opened a dispute. The dispute details only show her message to eBay, one of the messages she sent me and my initial request to return the item... which is now shown as being in the process of closing because she opened a dispute. How do I respond to the dispute? Does eBay automatically look at the messages and photos I sent it? If not, how can I include them as part of a response to the dispute?
Thanks in advance

a seller can only open a dispute in the event of non-payment.
Since you made a return request on the site: carry the process through to the end (it can only be closed if you do not return the item or if you exceed the response deadlines)
