how do I find out the amount of shipping fees via eBay to Japan
hello, could the readers of this post let me know how to get the provider or providers for sending a package worth a purchase of €5.00. Knowing that Japan is on the list of eBay destinations, is there a chart setting out the rates needed to complete an order.
Best regards

Mentor2 years agoHello,
At the same time, for €5, what’s the point of bothering with international shipping and customs formalities?
(I’m just saying, I’m just saying: it’s up to you... 😉)

Mentor2 years agoHello @nannord44
When shipping a parcel abroad, whether to Japan or elsewhere, the carrier provides a rate based on the weight and/or volume of the parcel (the price will come into play for possible insurance)...
Go to the post office website and check the international rates yourself (weigh your parcel beforehand (item + packaging..)

OP2 years agohello and thanks for this reply.
that’s indeed the approach I took, but I was a bit surprised by the amount. package including packaging 3,100 kg for a cost of €192.48. my client is surprised when I tell him more than €150.
telling me that when he has already ordered on EBay, he paid less than €80.
I’m going to send him another message with the screenshots, and advise him to cancel his order. It’s not worth the cost for an item that isn’t usable/
Kind regards

I don't know where you could have found your rate... but your Japanese friend is right...
- for a weight between 2 kg and 5 kg in zone C ... the rate is €70.80...
see the screenshot below..
You scare me... = .... don't start selling on the internet if you don't know how to read carriers' rates... you could end up with nasty surprises.....

OP2 years agoThanks, my mistake is that I didn’t think shipping was possible by Colissimo. I focused on Chronopost.
Probably age, my first international sale with customs formalities.
Anyway, I’m going to let my buyer know and wait for his reply.
Kind regards

Mentor2 years agoIf your buyer is still OK with buying, go straight to the Post Office to fill out the shipping form... take out insurance if needed.... and above all, forget eBay's delivery platform, which is often a source of trouble.
