How do you sell a brand-new item that's never been unboxed?
Summary: crisbat27 has new items for sale and is worried about how to maintain their value in case of a return, fearing they’ll become used items if they’ve been opened. lingma85 replies by pointing out that the idea of “brand new, never unboxed” is hard to maintain in private sales, since returned products can no longer be considered new. They mention that this is a common challenge in online selling and suggest that the idea of preserving that status is unrealistic.
Hello, I have several items for sale, new and still unopened.
I have a question in case of a return request!
This item, if it has been opened, will lose value and become a second-hand item.
I am looking for sales terms that allow me to:
post an ad suited to the situation of the product, brand new and still unopened!
preserve the item's value in case of a return and make sure I get it back in its original condition!
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Best regards,

Although your account has an anomaly that makes it hard to find you.... that doesn't change the fact that your question is problematic.
You are a private seller and you are asking how to resell a blister-packed product that would have been opened by the first buyer... which would make it lose its "brand new, never unboxed" status.
First of all, the idea of "brand new, never unboxed" becomes, through the sale by a private seller, "second-hand, never unboxed"..
Which already changes the perception of the thing..
On the other hand... explain how a buyer can check the condition of the "never unboxed" product they are buying and see whether it suits them or not...?
Unless you have a crystal ball or are called "Irma"... it's mission impossible...
Selling online has that drawback... reselling a returned product will never be "new"... but only second-hand... At best, "never used"....
So forget what you want, because it's in the realm of fantasy.
and in conclusion
it's up to the seller to do what it takes to take away the buyer's desire to return the item... (photos/detailed explanations/descriptions etc...)
Best regards
