Account suspended for "unpaid purchases" without reason
Summary: glogl-25 describes a frustrating situation where their eBay account is suspended without a clear explanation, despite a positive purchase history. The problem may be related to a past mistake during a transaction combining purchases, although that issue has since been resolved. Despite several attempts to get clarification from customer service, glogl-25 has received no satisfactory response. Suggestions from other participants include contacting a certain François at eBay and considering creating a new account under a different username and email as a workaround.
Hello
I’ve been in an absurd situation for more than 10 days
My account is "suspended" (I’m putting that in quotes because I haven’t received any message informing me of such a suspension) for no reason, and eBay, despite several phone calls, is incapable of giving me a clear explanation (I have the feeling that’s a specialty of theirs):
Indeed, when I try to buy an item, I get a message saying:
"You can’t make offers or bid because of a history of unpaid items on eBay.
Go to the Purchases section of My eBay to make pending payments and be able to continue making offers and bidding."
Since I don’t buy very often on eBay, I have a good memory of my recent purchases, and I’m sure I paid everything on time, the items were delivered and there were no complaints from the sellers (on the contrary, I even received positive feedback)
In the previous message, the "purchases" link takes me to the list of purchases, and in the "unpaid items" section there is nothing, in "payment failed" either, etc... in short, my record is whiter than white
The only little "event" was that 2 months ago, when I wanted to buy several items from the same seller, I submitted a request to recalculate shipping costs, which bugged out several times (the seller wasn’t necessarily familiar with that process, which also doesn’t seem clear to do, so I don’t blame him), forcing me to ask for the cancellation of the corresponding orders, which were indeed treated as such by the seller.
Proof that there was no mess, he then created an item specially for me grouping together all the articles, which I bought, paid for, and received. Everything was fine
And so for the past 10 days my account has been "suspended" (well, once again, nothing has been communicated to me as such, it’s just this error message that blocks purchase completions).
When I ask customer service to tell me which items are concerned, since no unpaid purchase appears, I’m told "ah but that’s because the items were sold to someone else". It therefore seems that customer service isn’t aware that all transactions are supposed to be recorded, including failed ones
The matter would be "under investigation" in some mysterious department, except no timeframe is being given...
In short, I’m angry at a situation that I consider completely unjustified and pretty horrified by the uselessness of the service provided; I feel for the sellers who have to put up with this kind of support...

OP2 years agoHello
It’s confirmed, eaby’s "customer" service is non-existent
Still no response since the message above, several messages sent via the messaging system (here too, the little checkbox "receive a copy" which, if it isn’t checked, won’t allow any kind of trace of the request... it’s brilliant

OP2 years agoHello lingma85
Thanks for this suggestion, but could you tell me more precisely how to contact this contact person, and above all who it is? Thanks
For your information, I still am not able to make purchases, it's just completely incomprehensible!
