Appeal a decision following a dispute
Summary: la-brocante-du-dell is having a problem with an eBay dispute where the original decision was in their favor, but it was later overturned, refunding the buyer even though the item was returned to them. Faced with the challenge of contesting this decision since it no longer appears, koalagris suggests that the payment was disputed through a third-party payment provider, thereby limiting the possible recourse. lingma85 shares their opinion on the perceived fairness of the situation, while madelodie advises checking the purchase history for more dispute options. la-brocante-du-dell expresses a desire to better understand how this dispute was resolved, highlighting the difficulties of communicating with eBay.
Good evening,
After a dispute closed in my favor by Ebay (the buyer did not pick up his parcel within the allotted time and accuses me of having intercepted it ????) when it was simply returned to me, I am being called a thief by him. Oddly enough, Ebay changes its tune and sides with him and refunds him. I supposedly have 30 days to contest this decision but the item in question does not appear in the list and it is impossible for me to go any further in my process. Can someone tell me how to do it?
Thanks in advance.

·2 years agoHello,
you can find the item in your purchase history. Uncheck hidden items if needed.
Open the dispute and claim details.
Just so you know, if you have recovered the parcel, you can't keep both the parcel and the money, so it's logical that the buyer is refunded. (leaving aside the trouble this transaction caused you)
Best regards.

OP2 years agoGood evening,
Many thanks for this reply, it’s the advice I was hoping to get back.
I obviously don’t dispute the refund, which seems completely justified to me; it’s the opening of the dispute that’s the problem for me. I’d like to know more about how it was resolved. Ebay promotes communication between buyer and seller, which I did as much as possible, and I’d like to hear their point of view.
Kind regards.

If I understood correctly...
- you recovered the item for sale that the buyer did not pick up..
and at present, you therefore have in your possession...
- the buyer's payment + your merchandise...
At first, eBay sided with you.... making it seem that you could keep the sale price and the item... then changed its mind.
- don't you think that's fair... ??
or were you really intending to "enrich yourself without just cause"... as they say...?
That you can't challenge this decision is perfect... !

OP2 years agoGood evening,
No, it is not my goal to get rich dishonestly, far from it.
Please know that when Ebay ruled in my favor, I no longer had any way to refund the buyer.
Did you read the entire history before judging?
Yours sincerely.

I read everything you indicated in your 6:40 PM message, which I replied to at 6:53 PM
If there was another parallel story - I knew nothing about it.

The buyer, initially rejected by ebay, eventually contacted their payment provider to open another dispute, over which ebay has no decision-making power.
If you no longer see anything, it’s because the purchase is too old, and even by keeping all the screenshots as already said ebay has to submit to the payment provider’s decision, so a challenge would have no effect.
On the other hand, you did get the item back, so yes, you lose the shipping costs and the commission fees, but wouldn’t it have been better (or fairer) to agree to a refund for the item only when you had the chance (during the 1st dispute) ?
I’m afraid there isn’t a solution to your issue...
Kind regards

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply.
This sale dates back to December 1st; I didn’t think it would disappear so quickly. I did ask the buyer whether they wanted a refund or for the item to be sent back, and all I got in return was a dispute case opened. Since Ebay ruled in my favor, I explained the situation to the buyer, who kindly replied with: "that's theft" and then won their case. A bit worn out by how little consideration Ebay shows its pro sellers, I wanted to share my point of view with them through this appeal, but getting in touch with them is a real uphill battle, as usual....
Best regards
